The religion of Islam prohibits killing of innocents and does not encourage this evil and in the Qur'an, Allah says: "Whoever kills an innocent soul it is as if he has killed all of mankind". Our Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever kills a non-Muslim with whom there is a treaty, that person will not smell the scent of paradise.”
This atrocity should not be encountered with unnecessary explanations and apologies as we were not a part of it to begin with. Islam has a very thorough moral and ethical foundation and hence, we cannot be made to be a part of this nuisance.
We as Muslims need to exercise extra precaution and care when it comes to these matters and should take steps to overcome these untoward happenings in our lives. Most importantly, we should counter evil with sheer goodness and kindness and this will go a long way in curbing such horrendous acts of terror and grief.

In this video, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi steps into the final league of the assassination of Uthman Ibn 'Affan RA. Lees meer
We are transported into that period when there is an altercation of sorts between Uthman RA and the rebels and how Uthman ceaselessly reminds them about the various deeds accomplished successfully by him and also how the Prophet ﷺ himself has given him his allegiance.
Attempts were made by Ali Ibn Talib RA, Abdullah Ibn Salam, Abu Hurayra, Ibn Umar, Hassan ibn Ali and Marwan Ibn Al Hakam RA to avert a disaster and in the best interest of the Muslim Ummah. But nothing seemed to work and all attempts at reconciliation reached a dead end.
The final part of the video divulges details on the eventual death of Uthman Ibn Affan RA and numerous facts are elucidated . Some of these that would be beneficial to share are as follows:
The night before his death, Uthman RA saw the Prophet ﷺ, Abu Bakr RA and Umar RA in a dream, where the Prophet ﷺ said "break your fast with us". So Uthman RA fasted that day and told his wife Nailah that today he would meet the Prophet ﷺ.
On Friday 12th of Dhul Hijjah, 35 AH, Uthman RA insisted all the Sahabah to leave the house. He opened up his door and began to recite the Qur’an which led to people barging into his room. They indulged in holding and pulling his beard and eventually striking him with a stick. One among them struck Uthman RA with a sword, which caused his hand to be cut off and blood to spill onto the verse of the Quran “Fasayakfi Kahumullah” (And Allah will take care of them for you).
Uthman RA said to them “Woe to you, that was the first hand that wrote down the Qur’an down”. The rebels continued until Uthman RA was struck on the neck and that blow eventually led to his demise.
Uthman RA was buried in the Baqi’. His death sparked the formation of two separate groups of people - the Khawarij and Shi’a.

Guidelines for Humor and Joking in Islam
29 april 2016 · 35 min
Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi lays out what the Sharia says about humour and joking. Lees meer
Numerous Hadith are cited that support the humorous stance of the Prophet ﷺ:
The Prophet ﷺ used to joke with the small child of one of the Sahabah called Abu Umayr, who had a small bird he used to play with. One day he saw the child looking sad, so he said, "Why do I see Abu Umayr looking sad?" The Sahabah told him, "The nughar which he used to play with has died, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet ﷺ began to gently joke with the child, saying, "O Abu Umayr, what happened to the nughair?"
A man came to the Prophet ﷺ asking him to give him something to ride. The Prophet ﷺ jokingly said, "I will give you the offspring of a she-camel to ride." He said, "O Messenger of Allah , what will I do with the offspring of a she-camel?" The Prophet said: "Are riding-camels born except from she-camels?"
Zahir was one of the Sahaba for whom the Prophet ﷺ had a deep fondness. One day the Prophet ﷺ came to him while he was selling some goods. He embraced him from behind. Zahir, unable to see who he was, said, "Let me go! Who is this?" Then he turned around and recognized the Prophet SAW and then he tried to move closer to him once he knew who it was. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Who will buy this slave?" Zahir said,"O Messenger of Allah, you will find me unsellable." The Prophet ﷺ said, "But in the sight of Allah SWT you are valuable."
Conditions and etiquette for cracking jokes:
There cannot be anything intrinsically Haram in it.
One cannot terrify the other believer with his jokes.
We should not laugh excessively as it deadens the heart.
It is Haram if we joke against Allah and His Messenger ﷺ.
There cannot be blatant lying in the jokes we make. -

A'isha reported: Allah's Messenger ﷺ was lying in the bed in my apartment with his thigh or his shank uncovered that Abu Bakr sought permission to get in. It was given to him and he conversed in the same very state (the Prophet's thigh or shank uncovered). Then 'Umar sought permission for getting in and it was given to him and he conversed in that very state. Shaykh Yasir goes on to examine the reason for this xenophobia and Islamophobia that is widely prevalent around us. The unprecedented hatred against the Muslims in this land, the rise of anti Islamophobic crimes and much more can be attributed largely to ignorance of the people and also due to genuine worry and fear for their own kith and kin.
The hatred, animosity and misinterpretation that we see around us is actually the result of the people being terrified and scared due to the thought of having to part with his freedom and being jeopardised. At some level, they want to protect their civilization and this hatred is coming from this aspect.
The oppositions are of two kinds :
Genuinely deluded, scared and yet sincere people who we can hope to change for the better.
Bonafide bigots and racists whom we should leave to Allah to deal with. -

Oh Allah, Please forgive me

Shaykh Yasir Qadhi ponders on our nature of trivializing the sins committed by us and being completely ignorant of being thankless of the bounties of Allah SWT. Lees meer
How do we get rid of these sins? Only and only by performing Tawba and Istighfar (repentance and forgiveness) because of our sins.
Four of the major sins committed by Muslims:
Shirk
Having the feeling that the Help of Allah will not arrive
Feeling safe from the potting of Allah
Feeling despair from the Mercy of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Every son of Adam commits sin, and the best of those who commit sin are those who repent.”
Allah (SWT) likes us to be constantly repentant. Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said, “Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His slave than anyone of you is pleased with finding his camel which he had lost in the desert. ”
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ﷺ saying: "Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, said: My mercy excels My wrath".
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "A believer sees his sins as if he were sitting under a mountain which, he is afraid, may fall on him; whereas the wicked person considers his sins as flies passing over his nose and he just drives them away like this (and he moved his hand over his nose in illustration).
Just as we need the forgiveness of Allah for our own sins and mistakes, we must also practice forgiveness toward those who have wronged us.

The above Hadith is the reality of the hour with Islamophobia at its peak. The reality of the hour is also the need for the Muslim Ummah to step up. We should let go of our nonchalant and ignorant attitude towards these trials and adopt a constructive approach filled with propagation of the truth of Islam for the betterment of Islam. The approach should be by two means - religion and activism.
These trials of Fitan have only been brought down into this trivial world to purify the hearts of the hearts of the believers and reinstall undying faith and love for the religion of Islam. Hence, it is our primary duty to do whatever it takes within permissible limits to ensure that our Deen does not suffer at the hands of these monstrosities.
