   Your violin won't stay in tune — and it's probably not your ear. If your A string drifts sharp the moment you start playing, tuning it again won't fix it. In this video I walk you through the four real reasons a violin won't hold pitch — in the exact order you should check them — and then I show you how to tune by ear with open-string double stops, so you're not dependent on an app to know whether you're in tune. The order is the whole point. Most tuning videos dump every possible fix on you at once.
