猜猜看，在台灣狗狗汪汪叫，到了美國變成什麼呢? 狗在台灣汪汪叫，在美國則變成了 woof woof；Dogs go woof.
Woof 與許多狀聲詞一樣，本身也可以當成動詞「吠」，The dog woofed at me. = 狗狗對我吠。
不過 貓咪就很像我們的中文啦!喵喵叫，英文也是一樣ㄉ聲音 meow 。
So cats go meow. 那跟 woof 一樣，meow 也可以當動詞。除了 meow 之外，英文還常會用purr 來形容貓滿足時發出的呼嚕呼嚕的嗚嗚聲，

爸爸媽媽給孩子的零用錢最常見的翻譯有allowance或是pocket money。
但如要區分兩者，allowance指的比較是用在固定時間給的零用錢，而且是美式英語的用法，for example, the mother gave her daughter a weekly allowance of $60. 媽媽給女生每星期60元。 Lees meer而pocket money則是比較英式的說法，同樣也有零用錢的意思，那如果要表示 "我想要把我的零用錢存下來"則可以說I want to save my pocket money. (save 存錢)，or I saved my allowance to buy a video game. 我把我的零用錢存下來買電動遊戲。

I’m feeling under the weather 竟然和"天氣" weather無關，這句話可是在口語中很常出現，表示我身體不舒服~感到低落的意思唷~
據說這句話是源自於航海，暈船的水手會被送到甲板下來躲海上的暴風雨。(seasick 暈船)
那麼，猜猜看 to chase rainbows 又是甚麼意思呢?當然也和rainbow 彩虹無關唷~
英文有個傳說 …Legend has it that there’s a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow 每道彩虹的盡頭都有一貫黃金。
