Special Delivery

Well, we did it. Actually: you guys did. Ostium has now been downloaded over 300,000 thousand times, which is just mind-blowing. So thank you to everyone who has listened, told a friend about the show, tweeted or left a review, or done anything to help Ostium. From Team Ostium to you, it means so much, and we are deeply grateful. And now here’s a special mini episode we did for International Podcast Month, called “Special Delivery.” Enjoy. This special mini episode was written and produced by Alex C. Telander. It was inspired by a conversation I was having with two people on Twitter and I swear I wrote down their Twitter handles in my notes and now they’re gone. So hopefully you remember who you are, and thanks for chatting with me and being the spark for this Ostium mini episode. The voice of Jake was performed Chris Fletcher, who also composed all the music. The voice of Monica was performed by Georgia McKenzie. The voice of the pizza delivery person was performed by Elena Fernández-Collins. For a transcript of this mini episode, and lots of other info on everything Ostium, check out ostiumpodcast.com. The Complete Ostium Season One (REMASTERED) - Part Two
15 juli 2018 · 1 uur 24 min
Welcome to the complete Ostium Season One (Remastered) - Part Two. I know. That's a mouthful. So let's break it up into its separate parts. The Complete Ostium Season One: That's right, we're releasing the entire season one without the chit-chat before and after the episode so new fans can gobble up the whole season much faster and quickly get caught up. Remastered: When I first started making Ostium, it was my introduction to podcasts and sound design and producing. Since then I've learned a lot, and wanted to clean up and equalize the sound so the episodes were more even and cleaner, also there were a few sound effects I wanted to fix. Part Two: I've divided this "complete" season one into three parts. Because Part One is two hours long. Part Two is an hour and 24 minutes long. Part Three is two hours and three minutes long. These parts follow the three story-arcs of the first season. Part Two consists of episodes five through seven, as we are introduced to Monica, Jake gets to know Monica, and they have some unexpected visitors. Episode 5: A.W.O.L. Episode 6: Dialogues Episode 7: Visitors All episodes were written and produced by Alex C. Telander. The part of Jake Fisher is performed by Chris Fletcher. The past of Monica is performed by Georgia Mckenzie. Interstitial music pieces were composed by Chris Fletcher. Background music is courtesy of the incredible people at the Free Music Archive. All sound effects are courtesy of the talented people at Freesound.org. Welcome to the Complete EMU, Part Two. This second part includes episodes seven through eleven that were released to our patrons during the second season of Ostium. Enjoy the continuing tales of Dave, as he travels through Ostium, and brings his story to its conclusion. These episodes were written, produced, and voiced by Alex C. Telander. The Complete EMU (Part One)
3 juni 2018 · 1 uur 20 min
Welcome to the Complete Enigmatic Mysteries of the Unknown, or EMU, as it’s amusingly known. Part One. This first part includes the first six mini episodes that were originally released to patrons during season one, and then released to everyone else during the hiatus between seasons one and two. The reason I’ve chosen to re-release these in two long comprehensive episodes is because Dave, the creator and host of EMU, becomes an important character in season 3 of Ostium, so I want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to be completely caught up with the whole story. Now, since I’m re-releasing these episodes, I could easily clean-up and remaster them for sound quality, but I’m choosing to keep them as they are. Dave is not an audio producer, he’s just a guy who wanted to make a show about some thoughts and ideas he had. I feel the - at times - inferior audio quality adds more to his character. So, sit back - if you’re sitting - and if you’ve never experienced Enigmatic Mysteries of the Unknown before, prepare to be . . . englightened . . . These episodes were written, produced, and voiced by Alex C. Telander. If you like Ostium, please consider supporting us on Patreon for as little as two dollars a month, where you’ll get access to mini episodes including The Ostium Files. As a supporter you’ll get your very own special door, and, eventually, your very own Ostium File. If you would like to just make a one-time donation, you can also do so through our website, ostiumpodcast.com. And if you haven’t already, please gives us a rating and review on iTunes, as this makes Ostium more visible to new listeners, and the more listeners and support we get, the longer Ostium will run. Ostium Season 3 will return with Episode 21 on September 2nd. Thank you. Lees meer

Ostium File #144

In celebration of the Ostium Twitter account hitting 1000 followers, here's a very special release of Ostium File #144 for everyone to enjoy. If you enjoy this episode, you can get lots more Ostium Files by supporting Ostium on Patreon, as well as lots of other content. You will also get your own unique door number, and eventually, your very own Ostium File. When you made the decision to become a patron of the Ostium Podcast, you were assigned a number, a door unique to you. There was a reason for that. It is possible that Ostium has not always been abandoned, not always population zero. Perhaps at one time there were people - from the future? The past? - who traveled through the doors of Ostium to different places in time and space to learn and educate and record their experiences. Perhaps these recordings are still in existence . . . Welcome to . . . The Ostium Files. To the patron who entered through Door #144, this is your story. Written and produced by Alex C. Telander Performed by Justy Gee. If you enjoy this performance, be sure to check out her awesome podcast, Starless. Music composed by Chris Fletcher Lees meer

Telander, who writes all the episodes and is saying these words right now. Yeah. I know. Pretty special, huh? While Jake starts to doubt his sanity for the first time, he and Monica journey to an interesting place with some very large statues. This episode was written and produced by Alex C. Telander. Jake was performed by Chris Fletcher. Monica was performed by Georgia Mckenzie. The music was composed by Chris Fletcher. All artwork was done by Sara Warren. Sounds effects are courtesy of the incredible people at Freesound.org. If you love Ostium, remember there are a number of ways you can support the show: you can help us out on Patreon or through our website at ostiumpodcast.com/support. And remember: there are only three episodes left of season 2 and then we’ll be on break until September. Unless we hit one of our support goals, in which case you’ll get new Ostium sooner! You can also leave us a rating and review. You can buy our merchandise, and don’t forget about the Ostium book. You can tell your family and friends and spread the the word on social media. And don’t forget to listen to us on Radio Public. Or . . . All the above. Any effort, no matter how little, is appreciated. Today’s podcast recommendation is The Earth Collective: The Earth Collective is a story of Mankind's survival on Oasus, a distant planet, far from earth. They live in rolling cities to stay bathed in constant sunlight, running from The Dark, a malicious entity that resides on the dark-side of the planet. The world-building in this podcast is simply magnificent. I felt like I was both watching a great science fiction movie series, and reading an epic science fiction book series. The world is so immense and complex and I’m always waiting for the next episode to learn more about this unique world. Thanks for listening and all your support, and join us in two weeks for Episode 18: People in Glass Houses. Lees meer
