From strange sightings of Devil Monkeys, which are large baboon-like primates to water cryptids like Ogopogo. Ogopogo is a cryptid lake monsterreported to live in Lake Okanagan in British Columbia, Canada. In 1926 a sighting is claimed to have occurred at an Okanagan Mission beach. Then, the Tunnel Monster of Cabbagetown, Ontario.
One summer’s day in 1978 in an area of the city known as Cabbagetown. A man named Ernest stumbled upon a secret entrance to the tunnels while searching for a lost kitten. Certain he had heard distressed mewling down in the alley beside his Parliament Street apartment the night before, he decided to army-crawl into the culvert about ten feet, flashlight in hand. The tunnel gradually widened, its black depths like an abyss. Something skittered ahead and he steadied the flashlight beam, hoping to see his kitten. But it was no cat caught in the beam. A pair of slanted red eyes bulged at him above the gaping, large-toothed mouth of a hairy, grey, bi-pedaled creature about three feet long.

Creepy Cornfields

After the break, Cam brings up some strange stories involving cornfields. Why are cornfields so darn creepy? Within the sub-genre of rural horror, sometimes cornfields are used as an easy way to add atmosphere to the film. Other times, the land is crucial to the happenings of the characters' story, or a terrifying maze where it's nearly impossible to stay hidden. The corn creates a feeling of claustrophobia, while also providing no shelter for the subject lost in the corn. Corn grows tall and endlessly, creating an inescapable ocean of pale yellow - it's easy to get trapped. A fear of cornfields is called Navarrofobia!

One very strange area of paranormal encounters that has been appearing more and more in recent years is that of what is known commonly as “Pale Crawlers.” These are tall, often gaunt, and scrawny pale humanoids that look like something out of a surreal nightmare, appearing to startle witnesses before slinking off into the gloom. While many of these encounters occur in remote, rural areas, this seems to not always be the case, and whatever these bizarre entities are, they have also been spotted in suburban, residential areas.

Taking in everything from possessed paintings to mischief-making poltergeists, haunted college ghost legends are as varied as they are chilling. What’s more, while some schools seem to shrug off their allegedly haunted histories, others actively embrace the reputations they have for all things paranormal. Betz Mystery Sphere

After the break, Cam brings up the unusual story of the Betz Mystery Sphere! Sometime in March or April 1974 - fittingly, the accounts aren’t consistent - three members of the Betz family, parents Gerri and Antoine and their oldest son Terry, were walking in the woods around their property on Jacksonville’s Fort George Island when Terry found something that would impact their lives for years: a strange metallic sphere, about the size of a bowling ball. Thinking it odd enough to make a good souvenir, Terry, then a 21-year-old pre-med student, took the ball home.
The Betzes didn’t think much about the orb until one day when Terry started strumming his guitar near it. According to Gerri, who became the family spokesman on sphere-related matters, something strange happened: the ball started humming back. Soon it started displaying other unusual properties - it would roll around seemingly of its own volition, changing directions and halting abruptly. It even vibrated and emitted a high-pitched sound that would send dogs whining and covering their ears. So what was this strange orb???

After the break, Cam brings up some more strange encounters with possible Fae Folk! Have you ever taken a walk through the woods but can’t stop checking behind you? Did you feel like you were being watched, or that the woods were speaking to you? If you’ve ever had an experience like this, then you have probably been around the Fae Folk without even knowing it.
The Fae Folk, also known as the Fair Folk or Good Folk, are present in many areas. You probably picture a gorgeous, magical, woodsy area when you think of fairies, but in reality, they can live in a simple backyard or city park. Even though you probably picture a fairy as a small, angelic being with wings, in reality, the Fae Folk are comprised of many different creatures. There is no one specific type of fairy. Accounts from well-known witches mention pixies, elves, kelpies, fairy horses, fairy dogs, and much much more. Some beings in the Otherworld are so different that we have no human name for them. We certainly don’t have a record of every being in the Otherworld. Almost every area of the world has groups of Fae Folk who are indigenous to the region. The Fae Folk come in all different sizes, shapes, and forms; they may look very different from each other. There is no set way that a fairy looks. Maybe you've had an encounter and don't even realize it.

In 2019 a Reddit user shared a story that, at the time, could seem a purely fictional story born from the desire to arouse the attention of readers. However, from that post, numerous testimonies were born, and today it is clear that those stories are not invented, or at least, some are not. Sky Cryptids are the strangest of the flying monsters from ufology, cryptozoology, and astrobiology. Return of The Mothman

The Chicago region has been experiencing a collective case of the heebie-jeebies in recent years, ever since reports of a giant, flying, winged humanoid began surfacing in 2011. In the late 1960s, people around Point Pleasant, West Virginia, began reporting sightings of a creature that would later be dubbed "Mothman." It would reportedly emerge, fly as fast as 100 mph, and, oftentimes, leave witnesses with a deep sense of dread. It was later suggested by some locals that Mothman was trying to warn humans of an impending nearby tragedy: the 1967 Silver Bridge collapse, which killed 46 people. However, others posit that this supposed supernatural connection was simply a way for people to make sense of a tragedy without meaning, as one would think there are more direct ways to warn people of danger than just being spooky. For whatever reason, it has been seen many times in and around Chicago recently. What could this mean?

Blue Man of Spring Creek

After the break, Kyle talks about the legend of the Blue Man of Spring Creek! Once upon a time, a wild, man-like creature roamed the remote, wooded hills around Douglas County. He was infrequently seen, but his presence felt as far back as the 1860s. Looking to chase and kill, he carried a wooden club in his huge hand, threw large boulders, and feasted upon livestock. Periodic appearances sent locals spinning into a tizzy and brave men searching the woods — and enough excitement to last until the next sighting. He was the Blue Man of Spring Creek. "It is a genuine Ozark legend, and if the testimony of scores of men during all these years is to be accepted, the legend is absolutely true," reported the Springfield Leader in 1924.

Grey Wolf: Classic Rewind

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives Classic Rewind, we go all the way back to January 27, 2014, when we spoke with author, researcher, and friend Gerrard Williams about his book Grey Wolf - The Escape of Adolf Hitler! Gerrard Williams is an international journalist and historian with an esteemed career spanning over thirty years. His resume includes acting as Duty Editor for Reuters, the BBC and Sky News. Williams’ groundbreaking reporting has taken him to the front lines of the fall of the Soviet Union, the Rwandan Genocide, the 2004 tsunami in Thailand and the US occupation of Iraq, among many other international stories. Ten years ago, while reporting in Argentina, Williams came across evidence in a local archive that changed the way he looked at historical reporting–Nazi war criminals, potentially including Adolf Hitler, used clandestine international routes to flee defeated Germany for safe haven in Argentina and other South American countries.
Using these archives, eye-witness reports and other local histories, Williams published the book, Grey Wolf: The Escape of Adolf Hitler. Despite the rigor in his journalism and his adherence to facts and evidence, the international community has largely ignored him. Today, with the release of classified FBI and OSS documents, his work is finally getting the credit and respect it deserves. Williams has taken over a dozen trips to Argentina, and visited locations like Hotel Eden, Bariloche and the Inalco House years before the FBI files pointed them out as potential locations of intrigue. Unlike his previous efforts, which lacked the finances and technology to dig deep enough to truly uncover anything, he believes that this team won’t be held back in the same way. Williams understands how sensitive to discuss and unfathomable to comprehend this subject is, but he stands by his work and welcomes a spirited debated revolving around the newly released facts.
