Wide Awake Stories #016 ft. Alison Wonderland
22 februari 2018 · 3 min
Very few electronic music artists open up to their followers on social media the way Alison Wonderland does. Candid and unapologetic about her insecurities and anxieties, she empowers her fans to trust their instincts and embrace their flaws. In turn, Alison–whose given name is Alex Sholler—is nourished by their stark realness. It’s a symbiotic relationship that’s helped make her one of the most endearing—and successful—producers and performers in dance music today.
With her second full-length artist album due this spring, we sit down with Sholler to discuss how the project came together, the memories of her first experience playing EDC Las Vegas, and the unique way she approaches social media.

Wide Awake Stories #012 ft. AC Slater, Joyryde, Ghastly, Feenixpawl, James Maslow, and More
6 september 2017 · 1 uur 32 min
Wide Awake Stories turns 1 year old, and we celebrate the occasion by dropping some big news about changes to EDC Las Vegas 2018. In short, new dates, new hours, new stages, and an entirely new camping experience. We can’t wait to party with you under the (much cooler) Electric Sky! Lees meer
First up on the show, AC Slater gives us the goods on his forthcoming artist album, ‘Outsider,’ and how Night Bass has gone from a small L.A. club night to a world-renowned institution. Humberto Guida, published author and OG raver, breaks down the sometimes-dirty-but-always-entertaining history of his own Florida scene, and former Big Time Rush vocalist James Maslow talks about how dance music helped shape his musical maturation.
Our very own Ms. Easy breaks down the creativity, passion, and logistics behind Insomniac’s performer program, and our in-house music guru Sam Yu interviews Ghastly, Joyryde, and Habstrakt about the songs that sparked their love of electronic music.
And last but certainly not least, special shout-out to our friends at Perfectomundo Tequila for being the unofficial official sponsor of our birthday party!

And finally, we tackle the topic of mass incarceration in an eye-opening interview with Lauren Segal and Ben Annand, of nonprofit organization Give a Beat, to find out how they’re using the power of music to give a voice to this important issue.
