#321 Scott Ambrose: Mysticism Without the Woo-Woo, From Meditation at 12 to Breathwork
2 november 2026 · 1 uur 8 min
Scott Ambrose started meditating at twelve, inspired by the Beatles and transcendental meditation, and has spent decades exploring meditation, breathwork and mystical traditions. In this conversation with Roy, he explains how mantra meditation works, what he calls restful alertness, and why giving yourself time on the cushion carries into the rest of your day. He explains sound, frequency, resonance and entrainment as a way of understanding how we deal with old emotional baggage, then lays out the three phases of the mystical path in his book: stabilization, purification and expansion. Along the way he covers shadow work, the ego, and why he believes that going deep without a stable platform can lead to spiritual crises. Scott shares how his practice grew from mantra meditation to body scans and breath meditations, and how a first session of conscious connected breathwork brought back a childhood memory he didn’t know he was holding. They also talk about teaching meditation without pushing it on your children, and why he presents a drug-free route to mystical experience and focuses on how to integrate those experiences into your life. Scott is the author of Demystified Mystic: A Modern Guide to Experience the Interconnectedness of Everything. Lees meer

#320 Finding Calm and Confidence on a Stability Ball
25 oktober 2026 · 43 min
In this episode, Roy sits down with Yossi Montrose, founder of Performa Ball, who has spent more than two decades developing a physical coaching methodology built on controlled instability and stability ball training. Yossi shares how he grew up with a hearing impairment, was bullied from his first day at school, and carried that into a collapsed posture, constant pain and a complete loss of confidence. He describes finding the stability ball at a gym and how it changed his posture, breathing and presence. He also tells the story of learning to regulate himself well enough to stay calm with a lion at a nature reserve in South Africa. Roy and Yossi talk about choosing the right ball size and quality, why schools and offices have swapped chairs for balls, how movement calms children with ADHD, and how sitting on the ball can bring more energy, better sleep and relief from back, knee and shoulder problems. Yossi explains the 3,500 exercises he has created and where listeners can find him. Lees meer

#317 A Psychic's View of Meditation, Trauma, and Pre-Incarnation Contracts — with Paul Boulton
13 september 2026 · 1 uur 22 min
In this episode, Roy sits down with Paul Boulton, a professional psychic and therapist from Australia with over two decades of experience, whose client list has included CEOs, doctors, psychologists, and even former nuns and priests. Paul traces his story from an intuitively attuned childhood, through a difficult schooling experience, to firewalking at 1,100 degrees and studying under influential figures in the consciousness field. He introduces his concept of the "pre-incarnation contract" — a framework he uses in his therapeutic work to help clients understand the challenges they carry — and speaks candidly about the categories of trauma and violation he works with most often in his practice, and why he developed his own therapeutic tapping method, Targeted EFT, after finding tarot and palmistry alone weren't enough to help clients move forward. Roy volunteers for a live reading on air, and Paul walks through tarot spreads and palmistry in real time, connecting what he sees to Roy's recent recovery from a spinal injury and his approach to relationships. The conversation closes with Paul's home energy-shielding practice and where to find his work. Lees meer

#316 Spellbreaking: Dissolving the Illusion of Problems — with Brian D. Ridgway & Abigail Morgan
7 september 2026 · 1 uur 1 min
In this episode, Roy sits down with Brian D. Ridgway, "The Spellbreaker" and founder of Level 5 Mentoring, alongside Abigail Morgan, CEO of Level 5 Mentoring and a 27-year veteran of the coaching world. Brian shares the extraordinary story of January 3rd, 2011 — the day he hit total rock bottom, about to be homeless with his pregnant wife and two kids, and experienced an awakening that instantly transformed his relationship with his own mind. He unpacks where the "Spellbreaker" name actually came from, walks through his Five Paradigms that he says govern how every person on the planet experiences their inner world, and lays out his "Five Spells from Hell" framework — the mental patterns he believes quietly run beneath most people's stress and stuckness. Abigail shares her own turning point — 27 years deep in the coaching industry, including 8 years running Martha Beck's practitioner training program, and how a decades-long physical pain vanished in a single 10-minute session with Brian after years of other practices hadn't touched it. For anyone drawn to stillness and inner work, this conversation offers a different lens on what actually releases tension held in the body and mind. They close with how this applies to parenting, to animals, and where to start if a four-day retreat in Hawaii isn't realistic right now. Lees meer

#315 Jon Paul Crimi: Breathwork Is 20 Years of Therapy Without Saying a Word
24 juli 2026 · 58 min
In this episode of The Meditation Podcast, Roy sits down with Jon Paul Crimi — Breathwork pioneer, celebrity trainer, and sobriety coach based in Bend, Oregon. Jon Paul shares how his late friend Matthew Perry first introduced him to Breathwork, how a single session sent him "down the rabbit hole," and how he transformed a niche, mystical practice into a grounded, results-driven method that's now certified over 3,000 instructors worldwide. Lees meer
The conversation covers the science behind "tetany" (the hand-cramping sensation common in circular breathwork), why Jon Paul's mouth-breathing technique differs from nose-breathing methods like Wim Hof, how trauma stored in the nervous system gets released through the breath, and why he believes breathwork produces results comparable to psychedelics — without the logistical downsides. He also opens up about his own sobriety (26 years), his father's Alzheimer's diagnosis, his experience bringing breathwork into corporations like Nike and LinkedIn, and how to spot unqualified instructors in an unregulated industry.
