  1. Episode 74: The Hidden Source of Our Restlessness

    5 november 2026 · 51 min

    Afspelen
Recorded during the opening session of the recent retreat in Borden, New York, this episode explores the deeply ingrained human search for happiness, peace, love, and fulfillment. Lees meer

Why does happiness so often seem just out of reach? Why, even when life gives us what we long for, does something within us continue to search for more?

Amoda Maa explores the hidden source of our restlessness — the deeply ingrained assumption that something is missing, and that fulfillment lies somewhere in the future.

Whether we seek happiness through relationships, achievement, healing, or spiritual awakening, the underlying movement is often the same: a constant reaching toward something that promises to make us feel complete.

But what if the very movement of seeking is what keeps us from recognizing the peace and wholeness already here?

Amoda invites us to examine this movement directly, to discover what remains when the demand for something more comes to rest. This is not about withdrawing from life or abandoning our aspirations, but about living without placing the burden of our happiness and completeness upon life's changing circumstances.

Through discourse, guided meditation, and poetry from Kavi, this episode offers a gentle yet profound invitation to discover the quiet intimacy of being, where nothing needs to be added and nothing is missing.

  2. Episode 70: Coming Home to the Clear Light of Being

    3 november 2026 · 44 min

    Afspelen
In this opening discourse from Amoda Maa's first seven-day retreat in Europe, Amoda invites us to discover the clear light of being—not as a mystical experience or future achievement, but as the ever-present awareness already here beneath thought, emotion, sensation, and circumstance. Lees meer

Awakening is revealed as a quiet but profound shift: from being defined by the story of "me" to resting in that which is unbound by any story or experience. As the effort to become, improve, reject, or grasp begins to soften, a deeper freedom becomes available—not freedom from life, but freedom within life.

This episode also includes an offering of original poetry from Kavi on silence, surrender, and the remembrance that we have never truly left home.

Recorded live during the opening session of the seven-day retreat at Koningsteen Center in Belgium in July 2026.

  3. The Stillness That Cannot Be Disturbed | Beyond the Quiet Mind

    29 oktober 2026 · 14 min

    Afspelen
Stillness is not a state to be achieved, nor is it the absence of thought, emotion, or disturbance. It is the ever-present ground of being, the silent openness in which all experience arises and dissolves. Lees meer

In this week's bonus episode, Amoda Maa explores the profound difference between seeking a quiet mind and recognizing the stillness that is already here. When we mistake stillness for a particular state, we become caught in the endless pursuit of peace, imagining that every difficult emotion or restless thought takes us further away from freedom.

But true stillness is never lost. It remains untouched by the changing movements of experience, even in the midst of agitation, uncertainty, and emotional intensity.

Amoda illuminates a beautiful paradox: the deeper we recognize this unchanging stillness, the more intimate we become with life. Rather than withdrawing from experience, we discover the freedom to meet it fully, without resistance.

True liberation does not require life to become still. It is the recognition of what has always been free within life itself.

  4. The Radiance of Being | What Is Always Here

    15 oktober 2026 · 16 min

    Afspelen
Beneath the constant movement of thought, emotion, and experience is something profoundly simple: the undeniable fact of being. Yet this simplicity is so often overlooked in our fascination with the changing circumstances of life and our habitual tendency to make everything about "me." Lees meer

In this bonus episode, recorded during a recent daylong gathering in Berkeley, Amoda explores how the constant movement of self-referencing creates an internal noise that reinforces the sense of separation and keeps us searching for peace and fulfillment in the content of experience.

Even the spiritual search can become part of this movement, as we imagine awakening to be an extraordinary experience waiting somewhere in the future.

But the extraordinary is already here, hidden in the very simplicity of being.

Through a direct and penetrating exploration, Amoda invites us to look beyond the habitual grasping and resisting of experience and discover the quiet radiance that remains untouched by life's changing circumstances.

This is not an invitation to withdraw from life or deny the human experience, but to recognize the lightness and freedom that become apparent when we no longer create a separate self out of everything that happens.

  5. Episode 73: Awakening Is Beyond Experience | What Cannot Be Lost

    8 oktober 2026 · 1 uur 3 min

    Afspelen
What if awakening is not an experience at all? Lees meer

In this episode of Conversations with Amoda Maa, Amoda and Kavi explore one of the most persistent misunderstandings on the spiritual path: the belief that awakening will arrive as a particular experience — perhaps a state of bliss, unity, expanded consciousness, or profound peace.

Amoda speaks to the essential difference between an experience, which inevitably comes and goes, and awakening itself, which cannot be gained, maintained, or lost. Spiritual openings and profound states may have great value, but they can also become something the seeker grasps onto, claims, or attempts to recreate.

The conversation moves beyond the search for spiritual experience into the deeper questions of what remains when every experience passes, what happens when identification with the personhood falls away, and why genuine awakening can be both profoundly transformative and surprisingly ordinary.

Amoda also speaks personally about her own awakening, the unexpected unfolding of her role as a spiritual teacher, and what it means when life is no longer experienced through the lens of personal authorship.

Ultimately, the conversation arrives at something simpler still: awake presence recognizing itself, and the fragrance of love that is revealed when the veil of separation falls away.

A candid and intimate exploration of awakening, ego, awareness, spiritual experience, and what cannot be lost.

  6. The Search for Peace | What Happens When Seeking Ends

    1 oktober 2026 · 15 min

    Afspelen
In this bonus episode, taken from a recent online retreat, Amoda Maa explores one of the most fundamental movements of the human experience: the search for peace. Lees meer

We often imagine that peace will come when something changes—when the body feels better, the relationship becomes more harmonious, the future feels more certain, the mind becomes quiet, or we finally reach some spiritual state of completion. But when peace is always located in the next moment, this moment becomes something to move away from.

Amoda invites us to look closely at this subtle mechanism of seeking and at the inner tension created by trying to manage experience, circumstances, emotions, relationships, and even consciousness itself.

Rather than asking, "How can I find peace?" she points toward a more direct inquiry: what happens when we stop moving away from this moment?

True peace is not found in perfecting the content of experience, but in recognizing the aware presence that remains unchanged beneath the continual movement of thought, feeling, sensation, and circumstance.

The episode closes with a period of silence and a simple invitation to discover, directly, what remains when the movement of seeking begins to soften.

  7. When Attention Comes to Rest in Itself

    24 september 2026 · 15 min

    Afspelen
In this bonus episode, taken from a recent online public meeting, Amoda Maa explores the deeply ingrained habit of attention contracting around the objects of experience — our thoughts, feelings, sensations, memories, problems, and plans. Lees meer

When attention becomes bound up with experience, identity becomes bound up with it too: I am this thought. I am this feeling. I am this difficulty. From here arises the constant attempt to manage, control, fix, reject, or change what is happening.

Amoda invites a different possibility: the relaxation of attention. Not as a withdrawal from experience or an attempt to get rid of anything, but as a softening of the habitual movement toward experience. Sounds can simply be heard, sensations felt, emotions allowed to move, without immediately turning them into something that must be interpreted or resolved.

As this habit gradually loosens, something quieter begins to reveal itself — the openness of being that is already here beneath all movement. Awakening, Amoda suggests, need not be a dramatic event or a special state to attain. More often, it is a gradual unveiling of what has never been absent.

The invitation is not to manufacture stillness, but to become available to the presence that is already here.

  8. The Quiet Revelation of True Nature

    17 september 2026 · 15 min

    Afspelen
Awakening is often imagined as something dramatic—a powerful energetic shift, an extraordinary state, a moment in which everything suddenly changes. But the revelation of our true nature is often far quieter than this. Lees meer

In this bonus episode, Amoda Maa explores how liberation is revealed not through effort, discipline, or the attempt to transcend experience, but through a simple willingness to meet what is here without resistance. As the subtle effort to maintain and protect the separate self begins to relax, the contraction at the centre of experience is seen to be less solid than it appears.

Through this "soft stop," identification with thoughts, emotions, sensations, and patterns begins to loosen, revealing the open field of awareness in which all experience arises. Awakening then becomes less about reaching a special state and more about recognizing the openness, presence, and being that have always been here.

Amoda ends with a simple invitation: notice what you may be resisting right now, and see whether it can be allowed to be here exactly as it is.

  9. Episode 72: The Depth of Surrender | When You Stop Arguing With Life

    10 september 2026 · 54 min

    Afspelen
In this conversation, Amoda Maa and Kavi explore surrender not as defeat, passivity or giving away our authority, but as a profound softening of the grasping mind. Lees meer

Beginning with Amoda's teaching on "the soft stop," they look at the habitual movement to control, resist, interpret and resolve our experience — and what becomes possible when that movement begins to loosen.

The conversation moves deeply into uncertainty, grief, loss, love and impermanence, revealing surrender not as a spiritual technique or destination, but as a way of meeting life itself. When the argument with this moment ends, even briefly, a deeper intelligence, openness and freedom can reveal itself.

  10. Let It Be: When Nothing Needs to Be Fixed

    3 september 2026 · 13 min

    Afspelen
In this bonus episode Amoda explores what it means to live from the quietness of being without withdrawing from the movement of life. Thoughts, emotions, fears, reactions and disappointments continue to arise, but they no longer have to define who we are or become the authority through which we interpret every experience. Lees meer

Through fear, sadness, contraction and triggers, Amoda points to the possibility of a shift in allegiance: away from the personal story and toward the silent openness in which all experience appears. When we stop asking what every feeling means about "me," even difficult experiences can become doorways into a deeper intelligence, tenderness and intimacy with what is.

This is awakening not as a distant attainment, but as a moment-by-moment return to what is already here.
