Laura has taken the decision to interrupt the Gabby Petito series to share her preliminary analyses and deconstruction of the confession letter written by Brian Laundrie, which was published on Friday 24th June.
The publication of Brian Laundrie’s notebook and so-called confession is huge. The timing of it being published and the contents are fascinating. The notebook was found in Brian’s drybag by his father, Christopher Laundrie, on October 20 2021. It was released to the media by Steve Bertolino on behalf of the Laundries on Friday, following a meeting with the FBI at the Tampa Field Office.

Laura shares her expert analysis of the body worn camera footage from the Moab City Police Department. Officer Daniel Robbins was the responding officer who pulled over Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie in their van in Utah on August 12 2021 following two calls from members of the public.
One caller told despatchers: “A gentleman was slapping the girl. They ran up and down the sidewalk. He proceeded to hit her, hopped in the car, and they drove off.”

Laura unravels the timeline and shares that, in addition to the boat crash case and PMPED’s COO and CFO Jeanne Seckinger’s confrontation with Murdaugh about the missing $792k missing legal fees on June 7th, there was another very serious investigation into Murdaugh’s behaviour and finances, which began before Maggie and Paul’s murders.
Laura then details Gloria Satterfield’s troubling case and how a Judge signed off on a $4.3m settlement, which included $1.45m attorney fees and $105,000 prosecution expenses, which went to guess who? Gloria’s family knew nothing about this. One month before signing off on the settlement, that same Judge recused herself from the boat crash case due to her long-standing relationship with Murdaugh.

On 15 February 2020, Love Island presenter and one of Britain’s biggest stars, Caroline Flack was found dead at her home in Stoke Newington, London; in August, a coroner’s inquest recorded a verdict of suicide.
Before her death, Caroline was arrested in 2019 by the Metropolitan Police and later charged for assault. She became the target of a relentless media storm. Vilified in the press and online, her world spiraled.
Caroline spoke with Dov about making a documentary about what really happened. The next day she was found dead. Devastated and distressed, Christine, Caroline’s mother, never stopped searching for the truth about her daughter’s final moments, and she agreed to do the documentary of the story Caroline never got to share.

On 28 May 2018, Laura Mortimer and her 11-year-old daughter, Ella Dalby were found in a pool of blood at their house in Gloucester. Laura had 18 separate stab wounds, whilst Ella had 24. The change in Raja’s status is a critical step forward, but as Natalie and Laura discuss, the relief is short-lived. The system’s lack of clarity, inconsistent assessments, and ongoing failures leave victims trapped in cycles of anxiety, retraumatisation, and fear.
Together, they explore the emotional and psychological toll of a system that overlooks intent to murder, and the continued danger of coercive controllers, why domestic abusers, coercive controllers and stalkers must be exempt from early open-prison transfer, along with the urgent need for specialised training for offender managers and probation officers and implications for victims’ safety, justice, and reform.
