Laura interviews special guest Brian Entin, senior National Correspondent for NewsNation who covered Gabby’s case from the start.
Brian was posted up outside the Laundrie’s home in Florida. He also went to the location where Gabby’s van was last seen and where Gabby’s body was found, near an undeveloped camping ground along the border of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Brian shares important information about the location in relation to Brian’s so-called confession letter.
Laura and Brian also discuss the lawsuit Gabby’s mother, Nichole Schmidt and Joe Petito, Gabby’s father, filed against the Laundrie’s which is now proceeding as well as interesting disclosures from both Steve Bertolino, the Laundrie’s attorney and Pat Reilly, the attorney acting on behalf of Gabby’s parents and so much more.

Laura has taken the decision to interrupt the Gabby Petito series to share her preliminary analyses and deconstruction of the confession letter written by Brian Laundrie, which was published on Friday 24th June.
The publication of Brian Laundrie’s notebook and so-called confession is huge. The timing of it being published and the contents are fascinating. The notebook was found in Brian’s drybag by his father, Christopher Laundrie, on October 20 2021. It was released to the media by Steve Bertolino on behalf of the Laundries on Friday, following a meeting with the FBI at the Tampa Field Office.

One caller told despatchers: “A gentleman was slapping the girl. They ran up and down the sidewalk. He proceeded to hit her, hopped in the car, and they drove off.”

When 22-year-old Gabby Petito disappeared in September 2021 there was national and international media coverage, and rightly so. However, when her body was found in Wyoming it brought into sharp relief the 715 indigenous people, 466 who were women, who went missing in Wyoming a decade before Gabby who received little, if any, attention in the news or on social media. In this episode Laura interviews Cara Chambers, Director of the Division of Victim Services at the Office of the Attorney General of Wyoming and Dr Emily Grant Senior Research Scientist at the University of Wyoming. Both Cara and Dr Emily work on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Task Force in Wyoming.
We spotlight the findings from the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Wyoming State-wide report authored by Dr Emily Grant. Laura highlights a hot spot in the report which warrants further investigation, and discusses a number of cases including 23-year-old Jade Wagon who was killed on January 21 2020 one year after her sister, Jocelyn Watt and her fiancé, Rudy Perez were murdered on January 5 2019, and; 28 year old Dawn Michelle Day who was discovered floating in a Fremont County waterway in Wyoming on 21 July 2012. Maria told Police that Chivers had assaulted her both physically and sexually. She also reported that he broke into her house and stole her medication. On the morning of December 23 1996, Sophie’s body was found by her neighbour, Shirley Foster, at the bottom of the driveway to her holiday home in Schull, West Cork, Ireland.
