Hello everybody and welcome to The Whole Rabbit, I am your host Luke Madrid and well, this is just a short update about what's going on and what to expect in the future.
First things first; Andrew will be taking some time off the show. I am going out of town to do some mural work and Andrew is busy working overtime on various different projects. I will link you to those when they are closer to completion. Furthermore; things have been tense between Andrew and myself for a while - I think we need to give eachother some space, so, I'll be flying solo for a while.
That's not to say it'll be just me. I have guests lined up for future shows and some very interesting, deep, occult material to discuss. We'll be digging through old grimores, esoteric texts and decoding occult symbolism embedded in our favorite hollywood movies.
That said; I want the show to keep getting better. And with full honesty, our last episode on Necromancy was a bit of a disaster. I spent hours researching from a source that was written by a well-known, bonafied fraud. And, frankly, I'm a bit embarrassed. We ventured outside of our wheelhouse in terms of personal experience and it showed. I want the show to be about MORE than the limited subset of occult material the hosts of the show are already familiar with. I want to be informative and learn something too. The Malleus Maleficarum was the creation of a frustrated Dominican priest who, upset that he was unable to persecute women the way he wanted, retired to write the Malleus and lobby for official papal recognition of the witchcraft problem. In short; this snowballed to create a legacy of witch burning and persecuting the innocent that would spread, as madness does, cropping up here and there, for hundreds of years - always with the Malleus Maleficarum as its justification.

On this episode we examine the curious, historically documented phenomena of cynocephali, or dog-headedness.
We learn that cynocephali is different from lycanthropy in that dog-headed people are possessed of human intelligence and human standards of decency. We are not sure if they smell butts.
Lycanthropes, however, are werewolves and eat the flesh of humans. This dovetails well with what we know about skinwalkers and we explore the similarities to the description of "How to Become a Werewolf" from "The Devil's Notebook" by Anton LaVey.
We even discuss Kung-Fu weilding wolfmen. It's a thing.

We take a dive into our ancient past to discover the origin of oracles and talking boards. Before we figured out the ease of the cardboard rectangle and planchette we were huffing mythological snake gas to get answers. How times have improved.
Pythagoras even had a talking board that would roll around on wheels.
Finally however, near the turn of the century, a coffin maker would create the first Ouija board out of sympathy for the frail spirits who were tasked with moving such heavy tables.
What a nice guy.
