With their second studio album out this week, I thought it was only right to get them on the podcast. Enjoy x Lees meer

From her early days as the sole member of the Defected street team in Ibiza to fronting their radio show and now headlining some of the world’s biggest clubs and festivals, The First Lady of Defected, has become an intrinsic part of the UK house music scene.
The seeds of Sam’s DJ career can be traced back to a pair of belt drive turntables and a battered Numark mixer set up in her Mum’s shed; a pirate radio show broadcast from her bedroom using ‘borrowed’ equipment from the local college and MSN Messenger, and time spent expanding her musical knowledge working at Spin Central in her hometown of Weston-super-Mare and Chemical Records in Bristol. Zevi G, born in 1984, is a prolific and steadfast artist who uses his studio to bring unanticipated creations to life. In a world where love, unity and kindness have become a scarce commodity Zevi is determined to make a change using his art and many compelling characters to spread a powerful message. Lees meer
The artist was never intimidated by his underprivileged and very orthodox upbringing, on the contrary, that became the very essence of his strength and will, to turn his life around and reach others with positive and relevant messages.
Each figure comes with its own personality and features different traits such as the angel with its thin legs and wings, or the soldier with its buff chest. The childlike characters with eyes full of wonder appear as part of a world full of references and emotional memories from the artist’s 456 Land, bringing its message in a non-political vibe, a whisper, as opposed to a shout, but powerful, nonetheless.

Diamanté Anthony Blackmon is the American Dream. Diamanté grew up in Guatemala and came to America at 10 years old speaking very little English in a lower income neighborhood. Against all odds, Diamanté grew into Carnage, one of the most dominant music superstar artists in the world. From pioneering the Trap genre, massive collabs and festival appearances in the dance world, to records with Lil Pump, Migos, and Mac Miller, few artists are able to move between genres as seamlessly as Carnage. MK
15 februari 2022 · 1 uur 9 min
Detroit-born Marc Kinchen, known commonly as MK, is one of the rare house producers to consistently innovate as well as achieve significant commercial success throughout his lengthy career, which stretches back to the late '80s. Initially appearing on Detroit labels such as Kevin Saunderson's KMS, he developed a highly unique style that combined the soulfulness of New York-styled garage with the energy of hard techno, as well as intensely cut-up vocal hooks. His work would prove to be a significant influence on New Jersey house deity Todd Edwards, as well as the entire U.K. garage scene. Throughout the '90s he achieved club success with several singles sung by Alana, collected on the 1993 full-length Surrender, as well as countless remixes for other artists, including the Nightcrawlers' seminal "Push the Feeling On," originally released in 1992. During the early 21st century, he worked closely with stars like Will Smith and Pitbull, then returned to house music as interest in his earlier work resurged during the early 2010s. He scored one of his biggest hits with his remix of Storm Queen's "Look Right Through," which topped the U.K. pop charts in late 2013. He then resumed releasing original tracks, scoring hits such as 2017's "17." Lees meer
