BALANCE EXTRA: Zero Tolerance mixed by Gab Oliver
14 juni 2025 · 2 uur 23 min
By the mid-’90s, while peak-time anthems dominated global dancefloors, Melbourne started developing its own dialect—a darker, more hypnotic sound rooted in restraint. At its core was a small community of DJs and producers, united by a shared refusal to chase trends. The sound they conjured was haunting: progressive but with a sparse architecture which created ample space for atmosphere. Indeed, a Zero Tolerance track spilled across the dancefloor with the tension of a coming storm. Uncompromising, yet cerebral. Lees meer
To supplement our deep dive with Gab Oliver (see link above for full feature), the label head compiled an exclusive mix filled with fresh label cuts released on the label since its 2021 relaunch.

Balance Selections 313: Scippo
6 februari 2025 · 1 uur 31 min

This was followed by standout releases on Hope Recordings and The Soundgarden, alongside an inclusion on Nick Warren’s Balance presents The Soundgarden compilation. Lees meer
Today, Scippo channels much of his energy into Flown Records, a label he co-owns and nurtured into a go-to imprint for underground heavyweights. It has cemented his place in the global dance music conversation.

Featuring tracks from Kabi (AR), Four Tet, Sam Shure, and more, this 90-minute set proves that progressive house can still pulse with hypnotic energy when it leans into its house-driven roots.
