Academy Award-nominated editor Joe Walker has worked with director Denis Villeneuve four times now with "Sicario," "Arrival," "Blade Runner 2049," and their latest project, "Dune." With multiple characters, new worlds, dream sequences, action set pieces, and more, it was an arduous but creatively rewarding task to adapt Frank Herbert's classic sci-fi novel to the big screen. Joe was kind enough to spend time with me talking about the process of editing the film, his hopes for "Part Two " (which has now officially been greenlit), whether or not if we'll see an extended cut of "Part One," and more! For our main podcast review this weekend, Cody Dericks and Danilo Castro join me to discuss the middle chapter of David Gordon Green's vision for "Halloween," with the sequel to the 2018 film (also called "Halloween"), "Halloween Kills." Starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton & Anthony Michael Hall, the film continues the story from the last movie throughout a single Halloween night 40 years after the events of the original 1978 film with a larger body count from Michael Myers and a frenzied town of traumatized victims ready to take him out. Will evil die tonight? What did we think? Tune in below and listen to our SPOILER-FILLED review to find out. Enjoy! Lees meer

Daniel Craig's time as James Bond has ended with the release of "No Time To Die." To pay tribute to the 15 years he gave us as this iconic character, we decided to go back to his first portrayal of 007 in 2006 with "Casino Royale." Serving as a reboot for the franchise, which was desperately in need of one at the time, the film also stars Eva Green, Mads Mikkelsen, Jeffrey Wright, and Judi Dench, with Martin Campbell returning to direct after successfully rebooting the franchise with "GoldenEye" a few years prior. How does the movie hold up all of these years later? What did we think of the action set pieces, Craig's performance, and the film's unjust awards season run, which resulted in zero Oscar nominations? We discuss all of these points and more in our review. Joining me for this throwback podcast review, I have Josh Parham, Casey Lee Clark & Dan Bayer. Enjoy!

  49. Interviews With "Titane" Director/Writer, Julia Ducournau & Star, Vincent Lindon

"Titane" has had a tremendous amount of buzz since its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, where it went on to win the coveted Palme d'Or. Since then, it has been mystifying, terrifying those who have dared to see it, and in some cases, causing audience members to faint during their screenings. Beneath all of the film's more visceral moments, there is a sweetness that emerges, and it is here where the film's storytelling becomes the most rewarding. Julia Ducournau's follow-up film to "Raw" is uncompromising, with a clear directorial vision that's one of the most unique and intense you're likely to see this year. She needed a gifted actor who could commit to her vision, and she knew that with Vincent Lindon, her work would be in good hands. Both Julia and Vincent were kind enough to spend some time talking with me about working together, what the film means to them, and more! Take a listen down below, be sure to check out the film before listening (this is a movie that demands you to avoid spoilers at any cost), and enjoy! Lees meer
