Did you know that a hidden tooth infection could put your heart health at risk? In a study involving 101 people with myocardial infarctions and blocked coronary arteries, researchers found bacteria associated with infections in root canal-treated teeth. Root canals may be one reason oral bacteria can travel to the heart and arteries.
Most people don’t realize that sugar isn’t necessarily the worst thing for their teeth. Fruit juice can be 5 times more damaging than soda.
Some of the worst foods and drinks for your teeth include:
• Diet soda
• Candy
• Powdered starches
• High-fructose corn syrup
• Soda containing phosphoric acid
• Gummy candy
Citric acid is one of the worst things for your teeth, especially in its synthetic form. It acts as a calcium chelator, contributing to tooth enamel erosion. Citric acid is commonly added to beverages, so check ingredient labels and rinse your mouth with water after consuming acidic…

Everything You Need to Know About Peptides

There’s a lot of confusion surrounding peptides. A peptide is a short chain of amino acids that acts as a signal, telling the body to perform specific tasks, including building tendons, collagen, muscles, and ligaments.
GLP-1 is produced naturally in the gut and signals the body that you’re no longer hungry. This signal normally fades quickly, but certain GLP-1 weight loss drugs can remain active for up to seven days. This leads to decreased appetite and weight loss but can also cause gastrointestinal problems, muscle loss, and other side effects.
BPC-157 peptide injections have shown promising results for reducing knee pain, although human research remains limited.
Are peptides safe? Peptide safety largely depends on their source and quality. Much of the raw material used to manufacture peptides originates in China, and testing of some products has revealed incorrect amino acid sequences. Some products may also contain bacterial endotoxins, raising additional safety concerns.

Some people experience shingles pain long after the rash has healed. Shingles is caused by the chicken pox virus, which enters a dormant or latent state after the initial infection.
The virus can remain dormant in nerve cells, including nerve bundles that travel around the rib cage. These nerve cells allow the virus to hide from the immune system. The shingles virus can also interfere with vitamin D receptor activity.
Postherpetic neuralgia, the lingering pain you experience after shingles, is caused by damage to your nerve cells.
Remedies for shingles pain:
• Capsaicin cream or patch
• L-lysine, 3000 to 6000 mg once daily
• Zinc, 40 to 60 mg daily
• Vitamin C, 2 to 4 grams daily
• Vitamin D, 10,000 IU daily
• Raw honey applied topically

Benefits of creatine include:
• Supports ATP regeneration for cellular energy
• Helps meet high energy demands

Gut microbiome recovery after a single course of antibiotics doesn’t happen as quickly as you might think. Unfortunately, some people may never fully recover their original gut microbiome.
People are often told that their gut bacteria will return to normal within 4 to 8 weeks, but this isn’t always the case. The bacteria that return may be different, and antibiotic resistance genes can persist in the gut microbiome.
A healthy gut microbiome is essential for overall health and well-being. From your immune system to your mood, gut health affects nearly every aspect of your health. Gut microbes also play a key role in serotonin production, which is why many people report mood changes after antibiotic use.
Probiotics can be helpful when taking antibiotics. Look for stra…

Fat burning is not a backup method for energy. Ketones are actually the preferred fuel source for the body. The liver only stores about 400 calories of sugar as glycogen, while the average person has around 120,000 calories of stored fat available for energy.
Fasting does not typically cause hypoglycemia. During a 24-hour fast, you shouldn't experience a significant drop in blood sugar. This is because your liver can produce glucose through a process called gluconeogenesis, so you don't need to consume sugar to maintain blood sugar levels.
Between 12 and 24 hours of fasting, your body shifts toward fat burning. Fasting also stimulates autophagy, the body's natural process of cleaning up and recycling damaged tissues and proteins.

Hot flashes are not directly correlated with high or low estrogen levels. Instead, they’re related to how quickly hormone levels drop. If someone has more than 8 skin tags, their risk of developing metabolic syndrome may be 11 times greater than someone without skin tags!
Skin tags are a metabolic problem, not a skin problem. They’re associated with high insulin and elevated insulin-like growth factor 1. Skin tags often appear on the neck, under the arms, and in skin folds due to a combination of insulin-like growth factor and friction in these areas.
For topical skin tag removal, apply a drop of iodine and cover the skin tag with a bandage twice a day.
To prevent skin tags from returning, it’s essential to address the underlying cause by lowering insulin. Reducing eating frequency and lowering your carbohydrate intake can help address one of the most common skin tag causes and keep them from coming back.

Microbes in your body can turn an expensive NAD supplement into inexpensive flush niacin. Research has shown that niacin can actually raise NAD levels in the blood 5 to 8 times their baseline levels.
NAD helps pull energy from the food you eat and convert it into ATP for cellular energy. It’s also involved in DNA repair and longevity proteins. NAD supplements have become popular because NAD is believed to decline with age, but research suggests NAD levels remain stable in healthy people as they get older.
You don’t need an expensive NAD supplement. Weight training is one of the best ways to increase NAD, while foods like beef liver, meat, and fish can also help boost your levels.

Your adrenal glands produce cortisol, which helps keep inflammation under control. Prednisone is a synthetic corticosteroid that’s about four times more potent than cortisol, so it can reduce inflammation very quickly. It can also suppress your body’s natural cortisol production, affecting adrenal function even after you stop taking it.
Prednisone can also affect your body’s mineral balance. Sodium can rise while potassium decreases, potentially contributing to fluid retention and high blood pressure.
Beyond reducing inflammation, prednisone can also suppress normal immune function. The longer you take prednisone, the greater the potential effect on your immune system.
For autoimmune disease, prednisone doesn’t address the underlying cause. It temporarily suppresses the immune response and inflammation. Prednisone side effects can include bone loss, blood sugar problems, muscle loss, eye problems, mood changes, and many more.

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fats, and many people aren’t getting enough of them. Fish oil and cod-liver oil are great ways to boost your omega-3 intake. Cod-liver oil also contains vitamins A and D, making it a particularly nutrient-dense option. Food sources of omega-3s include fatty fish, sardines, grass-fed beef, organ meats, and eggs.
Two of the most important omega-3s are EPA and DHA. EPA can help reduce inflammation, while DHA supports brain health and cognitive function.
Omega-3 fatty acids help support the following:
• Dry eyes
• Dermatitis
• Arthritis
• Macular degeneration
• Arrhythmias
• High blood pressure
• Fatty liver
Omega-3s also support calcium absorption and may even help promote better sleep.

Does it seem like water isn’t quenching your thirst? There are two main reasons this can happen: You may not be drinking enough fluid, or you may have low blood volume. Low blood volume is the more common scenario.
Low blood volume is one of the most common causes of excessive thirst. Drinking more water can actually make the problem worse, leaving you with constant thirst.
To retain enough fluid and maintain healthy blood volume, you need adequate salt.
Low sodium and low blood volume symptoms include:
• Feeling dizzy or unstable when standing up quickly
• Persistent thirst, especially at night
• Fatigue, weak muscles, or cramping
• Poor sleep
• Headaches
• Feeling cold
• Constipation
• Dark urine
• Dry mouth and dry eyes
You need around 3000 to 4000 mg of sodium each day to maintain healthy hydration levels. This is equal to about 1½ to 2 teaspoons of salt per day. If you’re an athlete or physically active, you may need more.

Our bodies have evolved to store body fat around the midsection as a survival mechanism. There are 9 times more receptors for fat storage than fat burning in this area. Adrenaline helps activate the fat-burning process, which can help shift the body from storing belly fat to burning it.
High insulin levels can prevent you from losing belly fat. Fasting for 20 hours a day can help lower insulin to your baseline. A HIIT workout during your fast can significantly increase adrenaline to boost belly fat loss. Weight training combined with HIIT can stimulate even more adrenaline.
To reduce visceral fat, it’s critical to lower insulin, which is why 20-hour fasting can be a powerful way to stimulate visceral fat loss.
There are also more cortisol receptors around the midsection than in other areas of the body, so chronic stress could be another reason you’re having trouble losing belly fat. Adequate sleep, sunlight expo…

Beta-carotene is a precursor to vitamin A, but the beta-carotene used in the study was synthetic. Get beta-carotene from food sources for the best results and to avoid potential negative side effects.
Synthetic vitamin E may be okay short term, but with long-term use it can contribute to oxidative stress. Synthetic vitamin A can also create problems, including competing with vitamin D at the receptor level, increasing the risk of birth defects during pregnancy, and increasing the risk of bone fractures. Get vitamin A from foods like egg yolks and cod liver oil.

Both rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis show up in the joints, but the problem isn’t necessarily coming from the joints themselves.
Osteoarthritis is closely linked to metabolic health, while rheumatoid arthritis involves the immune system and gut health. Antibodies involved in rheumatoid arthritis often originate in the mucus layer of the gut.
Research has shown that drinking just one soda per day may significantly increase the risk of rheumatoid arthritis. Other foods, including modern wheat, corn, and conventional dairy, can also contribute to gut inflammation and rheumatoid arthritis.
Osteoarthritis is strongly linked to metabolic health. Foods such as sugar, starches, and seed oils can negatively affect metabolic health and contribute to arthritis and joint inflammation.
A carnivore diet can help reduce gut inflammation and arthritis symptoms. It’s also vital to get plenty of the key nutrients that support joint and metabolic health. This includes vitamin D3, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin K2.

Potential red light therapy benefits include:
• Increased cellular energy production
• Reduced oxidative stress
• Increased nitric oxide to support circulation
You don’t necessarily need an expensive red light panel to see benefits. A significant portion of sunlight is made up of red and infrared light.
Red light targets superficial tissues like the skin and hair follicles, while near-infrared light penetrates deeper to support muscles and joints.
Research has shown positive results using red light therapy for hair loss, knee osteoarthritis, fatigue associated with fibromyalgia, cognitive decline, and more.
Check with your healthcare professional before using red light therapy, especially if you have an existing medical condition or take medications or supplements that increase light sensitivity.

In a clinical trial involving 120 healthy people, participants were given omeprazole. None had heartburn or acid reflux at the start of the trial, yet afterward, nearly half developed heartburn, indigestion, or acid reflux.
Acid reflux isn’t always a problem of too much stomach acid. In fact, many people with GERD and acid reflux may actually have low stomach acid.
Antacids aren’t meant to be taken long term; however, many people use them for extended periods. Side effects associated with long-term use can include nutritional deficiencies, anxiety, depression, and more.
Overeating, a hiatal hernia, and high-sugar diets can also contribute to heartburn and acid reflux.
Betaine hydrochloride can help acidify the stomach and may help reduce GERD symptoms. Zinc carnosine can also support digestive health if you’re dealing with an ulcer or stomach inflammation.

If you’re making these common magnesium mistakes, they could be the reason your magnesium isn’t working.
Magnesium glycinate dosage doesn’t always reflect the amount of elemental magnesium you’re actually getting from your supplement. It’s critical to understand how to read the label so you can make sure you’re getting the proper dose.
The RDA for magnesium is 310–420 mg, and many clinical trials showing magnesium benefits use dosages around 400–500 mg. If it seems like magnesium isn’t working for you, make sure you’re taking enough.
Magnesium absorption also plays a role. If you’re not absorbing magnesium properly, you won’t experience its full benefits. You need adequate stomach acid to absorb magnesium. Gut inflammation and even genetics can also affect magnesium absorption.
If you’re doing everything right and still not experiencing any magnesium benefits, you may just need to give it more time!

As chronic disease continues to rise, what’s really causing it?
Insulin resistance, often linked to a high-carb diet, may be a major underlying factor in high blood pressure. Research-backed natural blood pressure remedies include garlic, hibiscus tea, the DASH diet, and exercise.
Reducing salt isn’t always the best solution. The sodium-to-potassium ratio is more important than focusing solely on sodium intake. Increasing potassium and magnesium while addressing insulin resistance can help support healthy blood pressure.
Common high blood pressure causes include:
• High sugar intake
• Chronic stress
• Sleep apnea
• Inflammation
• Low magnesium
• Low sunlight exposure
• ObesityLisinopril is a common blood pressure treatment, but it comes with potential side effects.

What constitutes an addiction, and what makes the most addictive substances so addictive? A big factor is how quickly the brain gets the reward it’s seeking.
Dopamine is a key driver of addiction, and it’s not a pleasure hormone like most people think. Dopamine plays a major role in wanting and seeking a reward, like opening the refrigerator and looking for something even though you’re already full.
One of the most powerful addictions today is smartphone addiction. Checking your texts, emails, and social media feeds can consume hours of your life. The average person checks their phone around 130 to 160 times per day! Smartphone addiction can become especially dangerous when it leads to behaviors like texting while driving.
One way to help break an addiction is to add friction and time between yourself and the behavior.

Toenail fungus is often thought to live on sugar, but that’s not actually the case. Why some people develop toenail fungus while others don’t can be influenced by several factors, including immune function.
Fungal nail infections are more common in people with weakened immune systems, and factors like chronic stress and diabetes can also increase the risk. This may also help explain why toenail fungus can be so difficult to eliminate and why it often comes back.
Common remedies for toenail fungus include:
• Epsom salt
• Tea tree oil
• Castor oil
• Garlic
• Black seed oil
Even fasting may help with recurring toenail fungus by supporting autophagy, the body’s natural cleanup process.

Diet, exercise, and supplements won’t work as well if your sleep quality is poor. Sleep is essential for detoxifying the brain, making healthy sleep a critical part of your overall health.
Diet also plays an important role in sleep quality. Snacking late at night can interfere with healthy sleep. Try eating earlier and practicing intermittent fasting and a low-carb diet. Kefir and L. reuteri yogurt are two foods that can help support better sleep.
Alcohol may seem to help you fall asleep, but it can interfere with sleep quality and inhibit deep sleep. Caffeine can also keep you awake, so watch out for hidden sources of caffeine.
Stretching before bed and focusing on hobbies that reduce stress during the day can also help you relax and sleep better.
Adequate sodium and potassium, along with magnesium glycinate before bed, can support better sleep. Vitamin D and white noise are also beneficial.
If you’re just starting keto and having trouble sleeping through the night, you may notice improvements within 1 to 2 weeks as your body adjusts to burning fat.
Stop snacking before bed! One of the easiest ways to do this is to stop buying snack foods. Focus on choline-rich and sulfur-rich foods to support liver health and help fuel your brain throughout…

Your blood contains only a surprisingly small amount of glucose at any given time. Even with about 5 liters of blood circulating through your body, normal blood glucose amounts to roughly a teaspoon of sugar. In diabetes, it’s closer to 2 teaspoons, so even a relatively small increase can make a significant difference.
Blood sugar levels can look normal for years before diabetes develops. Insulin’s primary job is to remove sugar from the blood. This means the body may be producing more and more insulin to keep blood sugar under control long before glucose levels become obviously elevated.
Normal fasting insulin levels vary from country to country and are often based on population averages. The problem is that if a large portion of the population already has insulin resistance, an “average” insulin level may not necessarily reflect optimal metabolic health.
A fasting insulin test is one of the best ways to detect insulin resistance early. Focus on getting your fasting insulin below 5, reducing sugar intake, and avoiding frequent snacking.

Around 25–40% of the weight loss experienced with Ozempic is muscle loss. Once you stop Ozempic and the weight returns, much of it is fat.
Most GLP-1 drugs work directly on the brain, essentially stopping hunger, while also slowing digestion. This means much of the weight loss from GLP-1s comes from simply eating less.
GLP-1 drugs can also leave you with nutritional deficiencies. Other Ozempic side effects include gastroparesis, acid reflux, vision loss, hair loss, diarrhea, and pancreatitis.
Muscle loss is one of the biggest concerns after taking Ozempic. To help prevent and correct muscle loss, focus on resistance training along with getting enough leucine, a key amino acid for muscle growth found in high-quality animal protein.
A low-carb diet paired with intermittent fasting is one of the healthiest ways to lose weight.

People often think parasites are something you only pick up in other countries, but parasites are more common in America than you might think.
Common parasites include tapeworms and roundworms. Fungi such as Candida can also behave parasitically, and even viruses depend on a host to survive and reproduce.
Sources of parasites include:
• Undercooked meat or fish
• Contaminated water
• Soil
• Pets
• Other people
• Occupational exposure
• Imported produce
Parasites can also be beneficial for your immune system. In areas where certain parasitic infections are less common, we tend to see higher rates of immune-related conditions like allergies and asthma.

Errors with the vitamin D guidelines were exposed in 2014, yet the current vitamin D RDA remains around 600–1000 IU. Research challenging these guidelines has suggested that the actual vitamin D dosage needed is closer to 8895 IU per day, but this has not been adopted into current guidelines.
Our bodies can produce significant amounts of vitamin D3 from sun exposure, yet most people don’t get enough sun. The need for vitamin D also increases with obesity and certain chronic or autoimmune conditions. Adding to the confusion, vitamin D blood levels don’t necessarily tell the whole story about vitamin D activity within the cells, and there continues to be debate around optimal blood levels.
Vitamin D cofactors are crucial for proper vitamin D function in the body. Sometimes, a cofactor deficiency could be the cause of vitamin D deficiency symptoms. Magnesium and vitamin K2 work closely with vitamin D, and higher vitamin D intake can increase the need for these nutrients. Zinc is another important cofactor.
When taking 6000–10,000 IU of vitamin D3 daily, it’s beneficial to also take 100 mcg of vitamin K2 and 20 mg of zinc, along with adequate magnesium.

Drinking cloves in coffee is one of the easiest ways to get the health benefits of cloves. Not only does it intensify the flavor of your coffee, but it can also provide significant health benefits.
Eugenol from cloves typically supports the upper portion of the digestive tract because the vast majority of this compound doesn’t make it past the liver. It can be beneficial against H. pylori because it survives stomach acid.
Research has shown that cloves have the following benefits:
• Reduces dental pain
• Has antimicrobial properties
• Supports liver health
• Has anti-inflammatory properties
• Has antifungal properties
• Fights ulcers
Coffee has its own benefits and supports healthy blood glucose levels.
When it comes to cloves, less is more. Around 1 to 3 cloves in your coffee is sufficient. To make clove coffee:
1. Crush 1 clove.
2. Add it to your coffee and wait 2 minutes.

The Real Cause of Hot Flashes and Night Sweats (Not Menopause)

Learn how menopause affects gut health and digestion here: https://drbrg.co/4yFS8HP
If hot flashes and night sweats are just normal menopause symptoms, why do some women experience them before menopause, and others never experience them at all?
Hot flashes and night sweats are not the same. Hot flashes are related to the speed of a hormonal drop. A fast dip in estrogen can signal the hypothalamus, which has a thermostat that regulates body temperature. Stress can also contribute to hot flashes.
Genistein may be beneficial in blocking the receptors in the brain that trigger hot flashes and night sweats. Adequate magnesium levels are also important.
Night sweats can last significantly longer than hot flashes, sometimes lasting up to an hour. Night sweats often happen between 3 and 4 a.m. and are more related to blood sugar than hormones. Addressing blood sugar, avoiding snacking at night, following a low-carb diet, and practicing intermittent fasting can help.

Numbness and Tingling in Your Feet? It's Not Your Nerves

I’m going to share a natural remedy you may find helpful if you’re dealing with numbness, tingling, or a burning sensation in your feet.
Your tingling feet aren’t actually a nerve problem. If you have high blood sugar, there’s an increased demand for vitamin B1 because vitamin B1 is needed for sugar metabolism in the body.
High blood sugar means the tiny blood vessels around the nervous system aren’t getting enough energy. A vitamin B1 deficiency can mean low energy and lactic acid buildup.
Benfotiamine, a fat-soluble form of vitamin B1, can help with tingling and numbness in the feet. Take the recommended dose 3 to 4 times per day.
Changing your diet is key to addressing the root cause of peripheral neuropathy. A low-carb diet can provide the body with ketones as an alternative fuel, helping properly fuel the neurons despite insulin resistance.
Peripheral neuropathy can also be linked to high vitamin B6 levels or low magnesium levels.

Vitamin A is essential for healthy skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. It helps maintain the protective barriers throughout your body, including the mucus layer of the eye and the lipid layer that protects your skin.
Vitamin A deficiency can lead to dry, rough skin and changes in the eyes. You may even develop rough, bumpy skin or corns on your feet.
Many people mistake beta-carotene for vitamin A, but these two compounds are not the same. Retinol is the active form of vitamin A, while beta-carotene is the precursor, and most of it does not convert into the active form.
You need adequate bile and gallbladder function for vitamin A to work. Bile helps extract fat-soluble vitamins from the food you eat. If you've had your gallbladder removed, or have a bile deficiency or a fatty liver, it could be the reason you’re deficient in vitamin A.
Focus on increasing foods high in vitamin A rather than taking a supplement if you’re deficient.

If you’re dealing with cataracts after 50, there may be a chance that you could reverse them naturally. If you catch early-stage cataracts, there could be an opportunity for natural reversal.
Cataracts occur in the lens of the eye. The lens has no blood supply and relies on glucose for energy. Too much sugar in the body can bind with proteins in the lens and damage them through a process known as glycation.
Chronic high blood sugar can lead to the development of advanced glycation end products (AGEs). This can cause the lens to become opaque, making it difficult to see. This process is what we know as a cataract.
Cataracts can even develop before diabetes, when insulin is high and insulin resistance is already present.
To reverse cataracts naturally, you must lower insulin. Avoid sugar and fructose, stop snacking, and consider a low-carb or ketogenic diet. Phytonutrients from foods like cruciferous vegetables can also support eye health. NAC eye drops may also be beneficial for cataract reversal and prevention.

One of the easiest ways to do this is to stop buying sn…

In the past, a common tinnitus treatment involved slicing the auditory nerve, only to discover that ringing in the ears did not go away.
Inside the inner ear, you have a tiny but powerful battery. The inner ear has a very high demand for energy and relies heavily on this energy for hearing and preventing ringing in the ears.
Any problems with energy in the bloodstream can show up in your inner ear. If your inner ear struggles to get enough energy, the brainstem compensates by actually turning up the volume, not decreasing it. This often manifests as tinnitus.
Vitamin B1 powers the “battery” of the inner ear, supports brain function, and supplies energy to the mitochondria. Studies have shown that people with beriberi and tinnitus have been able to reverse tinnitus with vitamin B1.
Vitamin B1 in the form of allithiamine is one of the best ways to get rid of tinnitus.

Statin medications are the most commonly prescribed drug class in the United States, yet most people are unaware of their potential side effects.
Statins are typically prescribed when cholesterol levels are high. They block the production of cholesterol, but they also block the production of CoQ10, which is vital for muscle and heart health.
If you’re taking statins, CoQ10 can help mitigate the side effects. Ubiquinol is a fast-acting form of CoQ10 and may be the best form to take. A typical amount is 200–400 mg.
Instead of immediately taking statins, ask yourself: Why do you have high cholesterol in the first place? Refined carbohydrates and sugar can contribute to cholesterol production in the body. Low bile, gallbladder problems, or gallbladder removal can also contribute to high cholesterol.

Most women think intermittent fasting is dangerous or that it will wreck their hormones, but much of this concern is based on a faulty animal study.
For women dealing with hormonal problems like PCOS, a sluggish thyroid, menopausal weight gain, or irregular periods, intermittent fasting can be especially beneficial. The caveat is that you have to gear your intermittent fasting plan to your specific biology. The protocol for a woman with PCOS will look different from the protocol for a woman going through menopause.
To start intermittent fasting, you need a fasting window of 14 hours or greater. Many of the benefits of fasting are related to lowering insulin, which allows your body to tap into its fat reserves for fuel.
When insulin is too high, androgens can become elevated and contribute to estrogen dominance and low progesterone. This can affect your mood and contribute to symptoms like facial hair and cystic acne.
By lowering insulin, intermittent fasting can support hormone balance, fertility, and…

Most people take collagen for healthy hair, skin, nails, and joints without realizing all of its benefits.
Ancestral diets naturally included collagen-rich foods like organ meats, bone marrow, bone broth, cartilage, and bones. Today, only about 1–3% of the protein in the modern diet comes from collagen, even though collagen makes up nearly 30% of the protein in the human body.
Collagen is a major structural protein found in connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, fascia, and bones. It also helps support gut health and healthy sleep cycles. As we age, we naturally lose collagen. A diet high in junk food can also accelerate collagen loss.
Collagen contains collagen peptides that act as signaling molecules, helping direct repair to the skin, ligaments, and other connective tissues. Rooster comb collagen is one of the highest-quality sources of collagen for skin health, joint health, and gut health. If rooster comb is too difficult to find, chicken feet are an excellent alternative.
A collagen deficiency can also contribute to a glycine deficiency. Glycine is essential for bile production, glutathione production, immune function, and many other important processes. Rather than taking a …

Over a billion people have sleep apnea, and the majority don’t know that simple airway exercises could offer a potential solution.
Sleep apnea involves a narrow airway with muscles that are too relaxed and weak. The airway can collapse, cutting off your oxygen and interfering with your sleep.
Most people with sleep apnea rely on a CPAP machine for sleep apnea treatment. People are also often told to lose weight to stop sleep apnea, but that only works in about a third of cases.
Do these sleep apnea exercises once a day for 7 minutes. Follow along for a simple demonstration of the following sleep apnea exercises:
1. Tongue root press — Hold pressure for 5 seconds, relax for 2 seconds, and repeat 15 times.
2. Palate lift — Hold the lift at the top for 3 seconds, release, and repeat for 20 reps.
3. Cheek suction and hold — Hold a fish face for 5 seconds, followed by a puff face. Complete 5 cycles.

Low iodine and too much iodine can both affect the thyroid in the same way. You may experience the same low thyroid symptoms, such as weight gain, fatigue, eyebrow thinning, hair loss, cold hands, and cold feet.
Many people have low iodine. If you’re not regularly consuming iodine-rich foods, you could be deficient. People on plant-based diets often have very low levels of iodine.
Iodine often goes under the radar, but its benefits extend beyond the thyroid. It supports cognitive function, helps break down estradiol, and regulates estrogen receptors. Iodine deficiency has been connected to fibrocystic breasts and often improves when you increase your iodine levels. Iodine also supports the health and function of the uterus and fallopian tubes.
Too much iodine can trigger autoimmune disease, so avoiding too much is just as important as getting enough.
How much iodine do you need? Most adults need around 150–300 mcg of iodine each day, 220 mcg during pregnancy, and 290 mcg while breastfeeding.

Some research suggests that nitric oxide is one of the most beneficial compounds in the body, while other research suggests it can be damaging to your mitochondria. What explains the conflicting data?
There are different systems of nitric oxide in the body, and failing to distinguish between them may explain some of the confusion.
Certain foods and exercise can help boost nitric oxide, while common lifestyle and dietary habits may unknowingly destroy it. Blood sugar spikes are one major factor, and even certain types of mouthwash can affect nitric oxide levels.
