The Epley maneuver is helpful and works, but for many people, vertigo keeps coming back. That’s because the Epley maneuver moves the crystals that cause vertigo, but it doesn’t address why they’re becoming dislodged in the first place.

The most common type of vertigo is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), which is caused by displaced calcium crystals in the inner ear. This condition is especially common in women after menopause.

A protein called osteopontin helps keep calcium crystals tightly attached to the hairs of the inner ear. When this protein gets too high, these crystals can break off and become displaced, causing dizziness. Vitamin D plays a key role in regulating this protein.

Here’s how to prevent vertigo and reduce the risk of recurrence.Vitamin D: take 6000 to 10,000 IU dailyVitamin K2: take 100 mcg of MK7 Vitamin K2 for every 10,000 IU of vitamin DMagnesium glycinate: take 400 mg daily

Try this protocol for several weeks to stop vertigo and keep it from coming back.

7:30 The most important factor for your health environment

Not everyone responds to simply changing their diet. Some people improve their diet and still struggle with weight loss and other health problems because diet is only one part of your overall health environment.

Daily movement is critical, and it doesn’t have to be formal exercise. Our ancestors walked 5 to 9 miles per day while lifting, carrying, and working. Movement can also help reduce stress, especially mental stress.

Our modern environment is engineered to feed addiction. Social media addiction, constant entertainment, and junk food can repeatedly spike dopamine and reinforce addictive behaviors.

Your chemical environment matters too. Pesticides, fragrances, and estrogen-mimicking chemicals can all affect your health. Eating healthy food may not be enough to overcome constant exposure.

Lack of sun exposure, poor sleep, and less social connection can also interfere with your health. Changing these everyday habits and your environment is just as important as changing what’s on your plate.

There is only about 1 teaspoon of sugar in your blood at any given time. That amount can rise to around 1.5 teaspoons with prediabetes and 2 teaspoons with diabetes. Medication can help manage high blood sugar, but it doesn’t address the root cause.

Exercise is one of the best ways to lower blood sugar naturally because your muscles can use the excess glucose for energy. Walking after dinner can be especially beneficial for lowering blood glucose levels.

The order in which you eat your food can also affect blood glucose levels and help prevent blood sugar spikes. Meal timing matters too, so avoid eating too close to bedtime.

Removing sugar from your diet is one of the best ways to control blood sugar. This can also help your body burn fat for fuel while reducing cravings and appetite.

Nearly 1 billion people worldwide suffer from migraines! People who suffer from migraines are often low in vitamin B2. Research has shown that taking 400 mg of vitamin B2 per day may reduce migraine frequency by about half.

Migraine medications can work faster, but they may also come with side effects. Correcting a vitamin B2 deficiency can take up to 3 months, so natural migraine prevention may take more time.

The throbbing pain associated with migraines is linked to a molecule that increases when cellular energy is low. Migraines are also significantly more common in women, which may be related to estrogen.

Increasing your water intake can sometimes make migraines worse by diluting electrolytes, especially sodium.

The best migraine prevention supplements that can help prevent migraines over time include:

    • 400 mg of vitamin B2

    • 75 mg of butterbur twice a day

Most people think lymphedema is trapped water, similar to edema, but it’s not that simple.

It’s a normal occurrence for protein and water to leak out of the blood vessels into the surrounding tissues. A healthy lymphatic system removes this excess fluid from the tissues and returns it to the bloodstream.

When the lymphatic system fails, protein can become trapped in the limbs. This trapped protein is what separates lymphedema from general leg swelling or edema. Lymphedema occurs when lymphatic drainage isn’t working properly, typically due to a blockage or inadequate pumping of the lymphatic system.

Lymphedema is often worse in one leg than the other, while edema involves more equal swelling on both sides. Diuretics aren’t typically effective for lymphedema because they remove water but not the trapped protein.

To address chronic leg swelling and lymphedema symptoms, it’s important to understand what’s interfering with the lymphatic system’s ability to pump and drain properly. Metabolic health is often linked to the severity of lymphedema.

Nighttime leg cramps are not caused by a problem with the muscle itself. They’re related to the nervous system.

Leg cramps at night are typically a direct result of a magnesium deficiency. Some people think magnesium isn’t improving their leg cramps, but they may simply be taking the wrong form. Magnesium glycinate is one of the best-absorbed forms of magnesium.

Magnesium may not stop your leg cramps if you’re also low in vitamin D. Magnesium and vitamin D work together, so the more magnesium you take, the more vitamin D you need, and vice versa.

If you have severe leg cramps, it may take longer to see results.

Magnesium is a vital mineral that acts as a cofactor for more than 350 enzymes, making it essential for countless processes throughout the body.

Common magnesium deficiency symptoms include chronic fatigue, muscle cramps, twitching, insomnia, irregular heart rhythms, insulin resistance, elevated cortisol, and depression. Fatigue is one of the most common signs because magnesium is required to produce ATP, the body’s primary source of cellular energy. Magnesium also helps power the sodium-potassium pump.

Most people develop a magnesium deficiency by eating too many refined foods and not enough magnesium-rich foods. Most blood tests can miss a magnesium deficiency because 99% of magnesium is not in the blood.

TUDCA is an ancient remedy that has been used in Chinese medicine and is still prescribed for certain liver diseases in Japan today.

Bile is made by the liver and stored and concentrated in the gallbladder. It’s released when you eat to help break down fat and absorb nutrients from fat, including fat-soluble vitamins and phytonutrients. Bile is also antimicrobial, helps remove excess cholesterol, and helps increase GLP-1.

If you’re deficient in bile, try taking 200 mg of ox bile after a meal.

Unlike ox bile, which remains in the digestive system, TUDCA is water-soluble and can travel outside the digestive system and throughout the entire body. TUDCA supports healthy bile flow through the liver and bile ducts and helps increase insulin sensitivity.

TUDCA doesn’t break down fat, so ox bile is better suited for supporting fat digestion. Try taking 250 mg of TUDCA on an empty stomach twice per day.

When faced with gallbladder surgery, most people are told there’s no other option, and the side effects of gallbladder removal aren’t always properly explained.

The gallbladder is a small sac that stores and concentrates bile, releasing it when you eat to help break down fat. Bile is produced by the liver and is critical for proper nutrient absorption.

Gallbladder stones are one of the main reasons for a cholecystectomy. Gallstones typically form from the crystallization of excess cholesterol. Bile sludge is a precursor to gallstones.

Fat consumption triggers gallbladder contraction and bile release. Low-fat diets are often recommended, but they are not always the best approach for digestive health.

Excess estrogen can increase the risk of gallstones. Insulin resistance can also increase the risk and is often at the root of many gallbladder problems.

The full side effects that can occur after gallbladder removal surgery aren’t always discussed. After gallbladder removal, many people experience problems related to either excess bile or bile deficiency.

Choline is essential for helping prevent gallstones, yet many people don’t get enough. Eggs are one of the best sources of choline.

We’re living in an environmental mismatch. The environment we live in today is very different from the one our ancestors lived in, where frequent eating and snacking were not the norm. The problem isn’t just eating too much but eating too frequently. Intermittent fasting helps return us to more ancestral eating patterns and may be one of the best things you can do for your health.

During the first 12 hours of fasting, insulin begins to drop. Metabolic disease is often related to chronically high insulin. After about 12 hours, your body increasingly relies on fat burning and ketones for fuel, providing an alternative fuel source for the brain.

As fasting continues, autophagy helps clean up damaged cells and supports repair. During a 24- to 48-hour prolonged fast, growth hormone can also increase.

Periodic prolonged fasting can have incredible benefits for the brain, immune system, heart, and more. Many of the benefits of prolonged fasting occur when you refeed. For this reason, how you break your fast is critical.

Lisinopril cough isn’t caused by a problem with your lungs, and there may be something that you can do about it.

Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor, meaning it blocks the ACE enzyme. This enzyme helps raise blood pressure and also clears away an irritating chemical that can build up in your throat.

ACE inhibitors are one of the most prescribed drugs in the world. Some people develop an ACE inhibitor cough, while others don’t. This may be related to zinc, a cofactor involved with the ACE enzyme. If you’re deficient in zinc, you’re more likely to develop an irritating cough.

Research has shown that zinc can help relieve Lisinopril cough.

The majority of hypertension is classified as essential, which means the cause is unknown. High blood pressure has been linked to high insulin, low potassium, and low magnesium.

Alternatively, focus on lowering your blood pressure naturally to reduce the need for high blood pressure medication. Always check with your doctor before making changes to your prescribed medications.

Carbohydrates are not all the same. They come in three forms: sugar, starch, and fiber. Starch is simply a chain of sugar molecules.

Unlike sugar and starch, fiber cannot be digested by the body. Instead, it feeds the microbes in your gut and does not turn into sugar.

People with insulin resistance often do not tolerate carbohydrates well. Insulin resistance is commonly linked to the chronic consumption of refined starches and refined sugar.

The glycemic index ranks carbohydrates based on how quickly they raise blood sugar. Surprisingly, industrial starches can spike your blood sugar even more than table sugar.

The safest carb in the world is very low on the glycemic index and won’t spike your blood sugar or insulin. Unlike other types of carbohydrates, the safest carb does not contribute to chronic illnesses like diabetes or a fatty liver.

5:19 Other ways to support men’s health and reverse erectile dysfunction

One of the earliest warning signs of heart problems can be erectile dysfunction. It often appears 3 to 5 years before heart disease because the blood vessels that supply an erection are narrower, so problems tend to show up there first.

If you have erectile dysfunction or other warning signs of heart disease, the following tests can help assess your heart health:

    • CAC (coronary artery calcium) test

    • Ultrasound of the carotid arteries

    • Fasting insulin test

If you still get erections during the night or early morning, you may not have a vascular problem.

Testosterone drives libido, not the erection itself. Nitric oxide plays an important role in healthy erectile function, but nitric oxide levels naturally decline with age. Poorly controlled blood sugar, smoking, vaping, sleep apnea, chronic inflammation, certain medications, and a sedentary lifestyle can also decrease nitric oxide.

If you have erectile dysfunction or any other warning signs of heart disease, it’s important to discuss them with your doctor.

    7:07 Wall sit exercise tips

More than 50% of adults in the United States have high blood pressure, and many don’t know it. High blood pressure is often called the “silent killer” because it can go undetected.

Research has shown that the wall sit is one of the best exercises to help reduce systolic blood pressure. A wall sit is an isometric exercise, meaning your muscles contract without movement.

The wall sit exercise can lower systolic blood pressure by about 8 points, outperforming many other forms of exercise. If you have high diastolic blood pressure, cardio exercise may be more beneficial.

Reducing high blood pressure may also lower your risk of:

    • Cardiovascular events

    • Coronary heart disease

    • Stroke

    • Heart failure

    • All-cause mortality

To help support healthy blood pressure levels, perform 4 wall sits in a row, holding each for 2 minutes with a 2-minute rest between each set. Repeat this routine 3 times per week.

Junk food addiction isn’t an accident. It’s part of the design. Food manufacturers use food engineering, artificial flavors, and even texture and sound to make processed foods more appealing. Finely ground “microsalt” and carefully blended natural and artificial flavors are designed to deliver intense flavor and keep you coming back for more.

Many ultra-processed foods are engineered to be highly palatable without providing lasting satisfaction, making it easy to keep eating without feeling truly satiated. Manufacturers even research the “bliss point” to optimize taste and encourage repeat consumption.

Because these foods are designed to be difficult to resist, portion control can be a challenge. One of the simplest strategies is to avoid buying junk food in the first place and avoid grocery shopping when you’re hungry or tired.

Aging after 50 doesn’t have to mean declining health. Research following more than 120,000 people over eight years found that VO2 max was one of the strongest predictors of longevity. VO2 max reflects how efficiently your mitochondria use oxygen to produce energy.

Supporting metabolic health is essential for healthy aging. Even when plenty of fuel is available, your cells can’t produce energy efficiently if metabolic health is impaired.

While high cholesterol is often viewed as a risk factor, research has linked higher total cholesterol with a lower risk of all-cause mortality.

Although genetics influences aging, lifestyle plays a more significant role. Supplements can be beneficial, but it’s best to focus on meaningful changes to support longevity. Regular long walks are a great way to support mitochondrial health and a longer lifespan.

Frequent urination at night is often more than just a bladder or prostate problem. Many people produce one to two cups of urine overnight, and much of this fluid comes from what was consumed earlier in the day, not just before bed.

By age 80, nighttime urination affects most adults. One possible clue is fluid retention, which is often associated with elevated glucose and insulin rather than simply drinking too much water or eating too much salt. An edema test and a fasting insulin test can help identify underlying issues.

Gravity also plays a role. Fluid that accumulates in the legs during the day can return to the bloodstream while you sleep, increasing urine production overnight. Sleep apnea and certain medications can also contribute to frequent nighttime urination.

What defines normal cholesterol levels today isn’t the same as it was decades ago. As the threshold for high cholesterol has continued to decrease, millions more people have been diagnosed. The focus has also shifted from total cholesterol to LDL cholesterol, but if cholesterol alone is the problem, why do cardiovascular disease rates remain so high?

Not all LDL cholesterol is the same. Small, dense LDL particles are associated with inflammation, while large, buoyant LDL particles behave differently. An advanced lipid profile can help distinguish between these two types.

Insulin resistance is one of the key drivers of high LDL cholesterol and is often linked to the chronic consumption of sugar and starches. A fasting insulin test may provide valuable insight into your metabolic health. Inflammation, low thyroid function, chronic stress, and fatty liver can also contribute to elevated LDL cholesterol.

Tartar buildup can irritate your gums, causing inflammation, bleeding, and allowing bacteria to invade the gum tissue. While brushing your teeth and getting regular dental cleanings are important, they can also introduce oral bacteria into your bloodstream. Researchers have found oral bacteria in the arterial plaque of heart attack and stroke victims, as well as in the synovial fluid of people with rheumatoid arthritis.

Plaque is a soft, living bacterial biofilm that hasn’t yet calcified and is associated with a more acidic environment that can increase the risk of cavities. Tartar is hardened, calcified plaque that can’t be removed with brushing and requires a professional dental cleaning.

Once tartar is removed, the key is preventing it from coming back. Some people notice more tartar buildup on a keto diet, but that doesn’t mean you need to change your diet. Just apply these simple tartar prevention tips to help prevent tartar buildup.

Many people eat three meals a day, but this may not be the best approach for everyone. After about 12–16 hours of fasting, glycogen stores become depleted, and your body begins burning more fat. At around 16 hours of fasting, autophagy increases as your body starts recycling old and damaged proteins, with continued activity in the liver, muscles, and brain.

Millions of people around the world practice intermittent fasting. Research has found improvements in body weight, waist circumference, triglycerides, and cholesterol markers during this period.

The first few days of a one meal a day (OMAD) diet are often the most challenging as your body adapts to using ketones for fuel. By days 4–7, many people find hunger and cravings improve as their bodies become more efficient at burning fat. Intermittent fasting also increases brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which supports brain health.

As intermittent fasting continues, growth hormone levels increase, supporting muscle, tendon, and ligament repair. A one meal a day diet may not be the best approach for everyone, including some postmenopausal women.

There’s a three-year window in every woman’s life when she can lose more muscle than during the previous 20 years combined. Even with plenty of protein and regular exercise, many women still experience postmenopausal muscle loss.

Leucine is an essential amino acid that signals your muscles to grow. As you age, your protein and leucine requirements increase, making both especially important for maintaining muscle after menopause.

After menopause, estrogen levels drop significantly, contributing to postmenopausal muscle loss. Fortunately, exercise can help rebuild muscle. Research has shown that weight training can significantly improve muscle loss after menopause while also supporting bone health.

Age-related muscle loss is known as sarcopenia. It affects not only muscle tissue but also the nervous system and connective tissue, making it more difficult to rebuild muscle over time. This is why it’s important to begin preserving and rebuilding muscle as early as possible.

Osteoporosis is not simply a calcium deficiency. Bones store calcium, phosphorus, and more than half of the body’s magnesium. Magnesium helps regulate calcium, supports vitamin D function, and plays an important role in bone health.

One of the most common factors associated with osteoporosis is elevated parathyroid hormone related to low vitamin D. Low magnesium can also affect parathyroid hormone. Some people have normal calcium levels but still develop severe osteoporosis, showing that bone density and bone strength are not always the same.

Magnesium deficiency is difficult to detect with a standard blood test and may go unnoticed until it becomes more severe. Chronic stress and certain medications, including prednisone and proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), may also affect bone health.

If you have osteoporosis, getting enough magnesium is important. Focus on magnesium-rich foods, magnesium glycinate, vitamin D, and vitamin K2 to help support healthy bones and maintain bone density.

Autoimmune diseases are becoming increasingly common, but what’s driving this trend?

Vitamin D’s most important role is helping regulate the immune system. Your immune system protects against viruses, fungi, yeast, bacteria, and abnormal cells, while also helping distinguish between healthy and unhealthy cells. Every major immune cell involved in this process depends on vitamin D.

Rather than simply creating a stronger immune system, vitamin D helps support normal immune function and a balanced immune response. Vitamin D is especially important for the immune cells in your gut, where a large portion of the body’s immune system resides.

Some people with adequate vitamin D levels still develop autoimmune diseases. Chronic stress is one factor that may influence immune function by increasing cortisol, which can suppress the immune system. Low vitamin D levels combined with chronic stress may further affect immune function.

Around 25% of people have vitamin D receptor resistance, which can affect how their bodies respond to vitamin D. This may help explain why some people require more vitamin D than others.

Whole-grain cereals, such as oats, are often promoted as a healthy breakfast. Whole-grain oats are commonly associated with lowering cholesterol, but you need over 4 servings to make just a small change. This causes a significant blood sugar spike.

Whole wheat cereals made from modern wheat can raise blood sugar more than many people realize. Starting your day with a high-starch breakfast may contribute to blood sugar fluctuations, sugar cravings, and increased hunger later in the day.

The best breakfast may be no breakfast at all! If you reduce sugar and starch intake and stop snacking, you may find you’re no longer hungry in the morning. Extending your overnight fast can help support metabolic health.

Keep it simple: eat when you’re hungry, not because it’s breakfast time.

One vaping device can deliver the equivalent of hundreds of cigarette puffs. Many people don’t realize that the average vaping device contains about 650 mg of nicotine, making nicotine addiction easy to develop.

Flavorings used in vapes were never intended to be inhaled. When you vape, the aerosol enters your lungs and bloodstream, exposing your body to nicotine and other toxic compounds.

Every time you use a vape, your nicotine receptors become desensitized, increasing your craving for more nicotine over time. Nicotine is also a stimulant that constricts blood vessels, promotes inflammation, and can lead to chemical dependence.

One of the most common vaping myths is that vapes only contain water vapor. In reality, many vaping products contain solvents, glycerin, synthetic flavorings, formaldehyde, and other toxic byproducts in addition to nicotine.

Sleep quality is just as important as the number of hours you sleep. Light, sound, air quality, temperature, and what you eat before bed all affect your sleep quality.

As you fall asleep, your core body temperature naturally drops by 2–3 degrees. Keeping your bedroom between 60–67°F can support this natural cooling process, making it easier to fall asleep and stay in a deep sleep.

Dim the lights 2–3 hours before bed, avoid blue light and LED lights in the evening, and eliminate small light sources in the bedroom. These simple changes can help improve sleep quality.

Snacking before bed can spike blood sugar and contribute to blood sugar fluctuations throughout the night, making it harder to get restorative sleep.

The benefits of deep sleep include better memory, improved brain waste removal, increased growth hormone, stronger immune function, and more stable blood sugar, all of which can help you stop waking up feeling tired.

Eggs contain more than 850 proteins and are one of the richest dietary sources of choline. Just two eggs provide about 300 mg of choline.

Choline is an essential building block for acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that supports communication between neurons. Many Alzheimer’s medications work by slowing the breakdown of acetylcholine. Eggs also contain lutein, another important nutrient that supports brain health and cognitive health.

Eggs are true brain food, providing high-quality protein, choline, lutein, B vitamins, folate, iodine, selenium, trace minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids. These nutrients support brain health and may play a role in dementia prevention.

Bloating, gas, smelly farts, and other digestive symptoms often all have different root causes and different solutions.

Healthy digestion starts with strong stomach acid. Your stomach acid should have a pH between 1 and 3 to properly break down protein and help control microbes. Low stomach acid is one of the most common causes of gas and bloating.

Most gas is produced by microbes in the large intestine. When these microbes migrate into the small intestine, they can begin fermenting food, leading to SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). Bacteria and fungi thrive on sugar and starches, contributing to gut inflammation, pain, bloating, and digestive discomfort. The carnivore diet can be beneficial for people dealing with SIBO.

Betaine hydrochloride can help to restore stomach acid, but it should be avoided if you have a stomach ulcer. Intermittent fasting is a great way to support digestive health while helping reduce bloating and gas.

If your bloating gets worse as the day goes on, stress may be a contributing factor. Long walks, quality sleep, and nasal breathing can help support gut health. L. reuteri also supports gut health while increasing oxytocin, which can help support a healthy stress response.

If you’re dealing with chronic disease symptoms, understanding the root cause is critical, but it’s often overlooked. One of the best ways to identify the root cause is to determine when your symptoms began, and what happened just before that.

In 2017, more than 31 million people were diagnosed with hypertension overnight without any actual change in their blood pressure. Instead, the diagnostic definition of high blood pressure changed.

Similar trends have occurred with cholesterol and diabetes. In 1988, an LDL level of 190 was considered normal. By 2001, that threshold had dropped to 130, and statin prescriptions doubled. The classification for high cholesterol dropped again in 2013.

Prediabetes was also introduced as a diagnostic category, and today more than 115 million Americans have diabetes or prediabetes.

Expanded diagnostic classifications have not translated into longer life expectancy. Chronically elevated insulin may be at the root of many chronic illnesses, and a high-carbohydrate diet can keep insulin levels elevated.

Natural approaches and lifestyle factors are not always addressed when someone receives a chronic disease diagnosis.

When faced with a gout diagnosis, many people are told to reduce their intake of red meat, organ meats, and shellfish because they contain purines. Purines turn into uric acid, and for a small percentage of people, removing them from the diet may eliminate gout symptoms. However, many people find that avoiding purines alone doesn’t help.

Research has found that one of the strongest drivers of gout is insulin resistance. Uric acid is normally eliminated through the kidneys and the gut. When you have insulin resistance, it becomes more difficult for the kidneys to flush out uric acid. As uric acid builds up, it can accumulate in the joints, causing gout pain, or back up into the kidneys and contribute to kidney stones.

High-fructose corn syrup can significantly increase uric acid production in the liver. Fructose is found in table sugar, agave nectar, fruit, and fruit juice, and is primarily metabolized by the liver. Hidden glucose from industrial starches can significantly raise insulin levels, contributing to uric acid buildup and joint pain, especially in the big toe and knees. Poor gut health and alcohol consumption may also contribute to gout.

Some people experience a gout attack when starting keto, but this is typically temporary and often subsides within the first or second week. Consuming celery and increasing your fluid intake may help your body clear uric acid more quickly.

Should you eat before bed? Growth hormone naturally spikes during the first 90 minutes of sleep, but eating before bed may suppress this important hormone. Growth hormone plays a key role in fat burning, muscle growth, collagen production, bone health, recovery, healthy immune function, and brain health.

Most of your body’s repair and recovery occurs while you sleep. For better sleep quality and beauty sleep, avoid foods that significantly raise insulin before bedtime. Sugar and starches trigger the greatest insulin response, while protein and vegetables have a much smaller effect.

Sleep quality affects everything from cognitive function to food cravings the next day. Melatonin, the hormone that helps you fall asleep, is also influenced by your eating habits.

For better sleep, digestion, blood sugar, and gut health, stop eating 3 hours before bed. Make your last meal nutrient-dense with adequate protein, healthy fats, and sea salt to help keep you satisfied throughout the night.

One simple breathing technique can help lower blood pressure levels in just a few minutes. Try breathing in for 4 seconds and out for 6 seconds, then use a blood pressure monitor to compare your blood pressure before and after.

This technique works by stimulating the vagus nerve, which influences the heart and parasympathetic nervous system. Focusing on a longer exhale can also help promote relaxation during periods of stress or anxiety. Sunlight exposure also provides additional support for healthy blood pressure by stimulating the production of nitric oxide, which helps relax blood vessels.

High blood pressure often develops long before you’re diagnosed with hypertension. In fact, changes in arterial stiffness can occur years earlier. A pulse wave velocity test can help assess arterial stiffness before high blood pressure develops.

Nearly 90% of hypertension cases are classified as essential hypertension, meaning the exact cause is unknown. Lifestyle factors are rarely studied in healthcare research.

Arterial stiffness is often preceded by high levels of insulin, which cause sodium retention. Refined sugar consumption, chronic stress, and low magnesium are a few factors that trigger high insulin levels.

Morning knee pain doesn’t actually start in the morning. It often begins in the middle of the night, leading to knee pain and knee stiffness that can last 30–60 minutes after you wake up. Knee inflammation may also interfere with deep, restful sleep.

If you have knee pain in the morning, try these simple knee pain exercises before getting out of bed:

    1. Ankle pumps

    2. Heel slides

    3. Quad sets

Research has found that microbes from dental infections may travel through the bloodstream and have been associated with inflammation in the arteries and joints, making oral health an important part of overall joint health.

In addition to knee pain exercises, focus on supporting a healthy inflammatory response. Turmeric and vitamin D may help support healthy knee joints. For best results, take vitamin D with its cofactors: vitamin K2 and magnesium.

Supporting healthy insulin levels may also help promote a healthy inflammatory response.

Improving quadriceps strength is one of the best ways to support healthy knees. Sit-to-stand exercises are a simple way to strengthen the quadriceps and hamstrings while improving knee stability and function.

Dementia is not an inevitable part of aging. Many of the risk factors linked to cognitive decline, memory loss, and dementia are connected to lifestyle, nutrition, metabolic health, and chronic inflammation. High-carb diets and vitamin deficiencies are often contributing factors.

Nutrient deficiencies, insulin resistance, poor sleep, environmental toxins, hormone imbalances, and gut health can all affect cognitive function and increase dementia risk.

Taking a proactive approach to brain health can help preserve cognitive function, support healthy aging, and reduce the risk of dementia over time.

Certain genetic factors can increase your risk for dementia, but they are not in control! Focus on a healthy diet and lifestyle changes for your best defense against dementia.

Ringing in the ears is often associated with past exposure to loud noise, but there may be additional factors involved.

Tinnitus is believed to originate in the brain rather than the ears themselves. When hearing loss occurs at a specific frequency, the brain may generate a sound to compensate for the missing signal.

Chronically elevated blood sugar can affect the tiny nerves and blood vessels of the inner ear. Many people have blood sugar problems for years without realizing it because insulin levels can rise long before blood sugar levels become noticeably abnormal.

Supporting healthy blood sugar levels may play an important role in tinnitus relief. Reducing carbohydrate intake and incorporating fasting may help support healthy insulin levels and improve nutrient delivery to the small blood vessels that support hearing.

These two nutrients help support nerve health and cardiovascular function for natural tinnitus relief:

    1. Alpha-lipoic acid

    2. Benfotiamine

Some people report improvements relatively quickly, while others may require more time depending on the underlying factors involved.

🌟 10 biological signals control how you feel every day, but only 1 matters most for YOUR body. Take the free 2-minute quiz to find out: https://drbrg.co/4tO9nV9 Fat tissue is more than just stored energy; it’s living tissue built from the foods you eat. One of the primary fats found in seed oils is linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid.

Over the past several decades, the amount of linoleic acid stored in the body has increased dramatically. Some researchers estimate that the average body fat contained about 6% linoleic acid in the 1960s, compared to roughly 18% today. Linoleic acid levels in breast milk have also increased significantly during the same period, while soybean oil consumption has risen substantially.

One concern with seed oils is that linoleic acid can oxidize when exposed to heat, especially during repeated heating and reheating. This process can create toxic byproducts that may negatively affect health.

Cholesterol is commonly used as a marker of cardiovascular health, but the body naturally produces cholesterol, and some researchers question whether it tells the whole story.Another important consideration is the balance between omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids.

While a balanced intake is important, many people consume significantly more omega-6 fats than omega-3s.

To improve your omega fatty acid balance, focus on reducing highly processed seed oils and increasing omega-3-rich foods such as fatty fish, fish oil, and cod liver oil.

Thiazide diuretics are the most commonly prescribed blood pressure medications and are taken by more than 40 million people. While they help remove excess sodium, they can also deplete magnesium, an essential mineral involved in blood pressure control.

Without enough magnesium, calcium can build up inside the arteries, causing them to become more constricted. This is why calcium channel blockers are commonly used for high blood pressure. Magnesium acts as a natural calcium channel blocker and natural beta blocker.

Many diuretics for high blood pressure can also deplete potassium. Potassium and magnesium work together to help keep the arteries relaxed, yet deficiencies in both nutrients are very common. Potassium also depends on adequate magnesium to function properly.

Vitamin D deficiency may also contribute to hypertension, and vitamin D relies on magnesium for proper activation and function.

High blood pressure is often viewed as a sodium problem, but focusing solely on reducing sodium intake may overlook other important factors and cause other problems. Addressing potassium and magnesium deficiencies could be a better way of supporting healthy blood …

A true fast offers many benefits and allows your body to shift into repair mode. During a fast, water, black coffee, and tea without sweeteners are generally acceptable.

One of the biggest fasting mistakes is not consuming enough sea salt. During a 5-day fast, aim for 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of high-quality sea salt spread throughout the day. Without adequate sodium, you may experience dizziness, fatigue, or keto flu symptoms.

To maximize the benefits of fasting and activate autophagy, keep mTOR low by avoiding protein, carbohydrates, and anything that significantly raises insulin. Walking is encouraged during a prolonged fast, but intense exercise such as weight training is best avoided.

On day 1, most people experience significant water weight loss and a rapid drop in insulin levels. Day 2 is often the most challenging, and many people quit before their bodies fully adapt to fat burning. Sea salt and MCT oil can help make the transition easier.

By day 3, autophagy begins to increase. Many people report improved mental clarity, reduced hunger, cellular cleanup, mitochondrial repair, and stem cell activation. Electrolytes become even more important at this stage, especially magnesium. Sun exposure and vitamin D are also beneficial.

As fasting continues, autophagy remains elevated while the body continues to target damaged cells, pathogens, liver fat, …

LDL is a protein made by the liver and serves many important functions in the body. LDL provides the raw materials needed to produce hormones such as estrogen, testosterone, and cortisol. It is also involved in the production of vitamin D and bile.

More than half of all heart attacks occur in people with normal LDL levels, raising important questions about the role of LDL in cardiovascular disease.

There are two main types of LDL: small, dense LDL and large, buoyant LDL. Small, dense LDL is associated with inflammation, insulin resistance, and chronic stress. Large, buoyant LDL is generally considered non-pathogenic.

Despite the focus on lowering LDL cholesterol, there is limited evidence that simply reducing LDL levels acts as heart disease prevention. Higher LDL levels have even been associated with longevity in some research.

Many people are prescribed statins without determining which type of LDL they have. An advanced lipid profile can help identify whether your LDL is primarily small dense LDL or large buoyant LDL, providing a more complete picture of your cardiovascular health.

Symptoms of cognitive decline can begin long before a person develops dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

In the early stages, you may experience a loss of brain energy, a buildup of protein in the brain, and shrinkage of the hippocampus. At this point, most people are not experiencing obvious memory loss. By stage 3, you may start to notice difficulty remembering names, decreased learning ability, and other subtle signs of cognitive decline. These early symptoms can begin as early as your 30s and 40s.

Alzheimer’s disease is often described as type 3 diabetes because it involves insulin resistance in the brain. Even though plenty of glucose is available, your neurons can no longer access and use that fuel efficiently.

If you need to eat frequently to avoid irritability, fatigue, or brain fog, it may be an early sign of blood sugar problems and insulin resistance.

High blood sugar and chronically elevated insulin can deplete vitamin B1, reducing the brain’s ability to produce energy. A diet high in sugar and refined carbohydrates can increase the risk of vitamin B1 deficiency.

One of the most important things you can do for dementia prevention is to redu…
