How I Learned To Love My Body: Raeann Langas & Kristina Zias—Botox & Filler, The Pros & Cons of Curve Modeling & How Health Scares Impact Body Love
30 juni 2021 · 1 uur 14 min
One of the most common questions that I get during my Sunday IG Q&As is where my body confidence comes from, and to be honest, I developed it even at all somewhat recently, and it’s still very much a work in progress. Because it’s something so many of us struggle with, I decided to invite on some of the most confident women I know and ask them: how did you learn to love your body?
My guests today are Raeann Langas and Kristina Zias. Raeann is a content creator, curve model, podcaster, and body acceptance influencer. Kristina Zias is a host, curve model, fashion blogger and body activist who also hosts size inclusive style segments for Access Hollywood and KTLA. Together, they host a super fun podcast called The Confident Collective, which they actually interviewed ME for, so definitely head over there and check that out—I shared a lot of stories and thoughts I haven’t shared anywhere else.
On this episode, we talk about: Lees meerWhat they do on bad body days
How to know when to change things you don’t like with things like Botox, filler, surgery, or even hair dye, versus accept it
The one trick that can make anyone feel more body confident
Behind the scenes in the curve modeling industry
How Kristina’s pacemaker and health issues have impacted her relationship with her body
Pregnancy, childbirth, and the impact of motherhood on body love
Raeann and Kristina and I would love to hear from you as you’re listening—they’re @raeannlangas and @kristina with a k zias on social and i’m @lizmoody so please screenshot and share any thoughts or feelings that come up as you listen. And if you know anyone in your life still struggling with confidence or body love, please SHARE this episode with them. Let’s all go on this journey together.

I know you all love our Ask the Doctor episodes—we’ve got ones on longevity, happiness, anxiety, gut health, and more—so this is sort of in that vein, but a bit different.
I’ve invited back Dr. Aviva Romm, who was on the Ask the Doctor: Hormone Edition, to do a hormone Q&A. Aviva is my absolute favorite resource for hormone expertise—she’s a Yale-trained MD AND a midwife and herbalist, plus she’s the best-selling author of many books, including her most recent, Hormone Intelligence, which we discuss in this episode.
For the Ask the Doctor episode, we covered a larger overview of hormones, so for this Q&A, I decided to go SUPER pragmatic and actionable, and basically used it as an opportunity to have her solve all of your hormonally-based problems. We talk about: Lees meerWhy being hormonal is actually your superpower

Her easy formula for optimal hormone health
We’d both love to hear from you as you’re listening, so screenshot and tag me—I’m @lizmoody—and @dr.avivaromm and tell us what you’re learning or thinking about. And if you want more hormone info, don’t forget to check out the Ask the Doctor: Hormone edition, which will give you even more background and information on your hormones .

On today’s episode, I sat down to chat with Lauren Bosworth, the former star of Laguna Beach & The Hills and the current bad-ass woman behind Love Wellness. Lauren Singer—How To Feel Empowered (Not Depressed) About The Environment, Simple Ways To Go Low Waste & Creating A Career For Good
30 oktober 2019 · 1 uur 27 min
My guest today is Lauren Singer, the woman behind the blog and Instagram handle Trash Is For Tossers and the founder of the Package Free Shop. Lauren first gained notoriety when she started living a zero waste life, and was featured on the Today Show, CNN, The Guardian, and more (she even gave a Ted talk!).
Now, she’s the successful business woman behind the mega-successful Package Free Shop, which has a brick and mortar store in Brooklyn and an online store, and is the home to everything you need to cut back on waste in your life, from menstrual cups to beeswax wraps to bar shampoo to metal straws.
I’m gonna be honest: while I care deeply about the environment, I wouldn’t normally listen to a podcast about it, simply because I find the subject so depressing, mostly because I feel like there’s so little I can do that actually makes a real difference on a national or global level. But I promise—this episode is not depressing AT ALL. It’s truly so empowering—you’ll come away juiced and feeling positive about the direction of the world.
It’s a great episode if you’re looking to live a lower waste life, but it’s also a great one if you’re interested in living a more conscious life, or working at a job that you feel represents your values and makes the world a better place. We get into Lauren’s career path, her advice for other social entrepreneurs, and how she grew a business for good. We also talk about her personal life: what she does for self care, what she eats in a day, how she combats hormonal depression, and more.
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts, so please share them—I’m @lizmoody on Instagram and Lauren is @trashisfortossers. We can’t wait to continue the conversation!

Marie Forleo—Simple Solutions For The Biggest Relationship, Dating, Career, and Mental Health Problems
16 oktober 2019 · 1 uur 20 min
I have an AWESOME guest for you on the show today—the incomparable Marie Forleo. Marie is a powerhouse of a woman. She was named by Oprah as a thought leader for the next generation, and is the NYTimes best-selling author of the freshly released Everything Is Figureoutable. She also hosts MarieTV and created B-School.
In this episode, we talk about the crazy career journey that took her from bartending and working multiple jobs to being the powerhouse businesswoman she is today. Because Marie has spent years as a life coach, I really pressed her for actionable tips about all parts of life: going after your dream life, having success in dating and in long term relationships, and even dealing with health issues like anxiety. She shares her advice for meeting a partner when it really seems like there’s no one good out there and the communication secrets she’s used in her personal relationship to keep it healthy and happy for over a decade, including her thoughts on couples therapy.
We get into money stuff: does it matter? How much? How do you know if you should quit your 9-5 and pursue a passion job? Should everyone do their passion as work? We talk about loneliness, and how it’s the epidemic of our time, and she offers some very pragmatic actionable tips to deal with loneliness that I’ve never heard before. She also shares a genius tip for telling the difference between intuition and anxiety.
I hope you come away from this episode inspired to live your best life in every single way, which, to me, is really what it means to be healthy. As always, I’d love to hear from you what’s resonating, so screenshot & tag both me (@lizmoody) and Marie (@marieforleo) on Instagram—we’d love to continue the conversation!

Monique from Ambitious Kitchen AND Jeanine From Love & Lemons: How To ACTUALLY Make Your Dream Life & Career Happen
3 oktober 2019 · 1 uur 44 min
I have not one but two amazing guests for you today—Monique Volz from Ambitious Kitchen and Jeanine Donofrio from Love and Lemons. They’re both incredibly successful food bloggers, and Monique is also the woman behind the vintage rug company Ambitious Home. Jeanine, meanwhile, has written two best-selling (and gorgeously designed!) cookbooks—Love & Lemons and Love & Lemons Everyday. Beyond that, though, they’re lovely, wonderful people who’ve managed how to balance having an amazing career and an amazing life.
I sat down with them to record a live episode at my Chicago book tour stop (although unlike other book tour stops, this is more of a traditional interview—although I chime in at the end to answer audience questions!). I called this the “How To ACTUALLY Make Your Dream Life & Career Happen” episode because I grilled both women about exactly that: how they financially made it work to quit their full time jobs to pursue their dreams, how they knew what their passion was, how to create content that resonates with audiences, how to find your passion (even if you’re not sure what it is!!), how to network and make friends in your community, and so much more. Danielle Walker—The Foods That Helped Her Heal, Secrets To A Long, Successful Marriage & How She Built Her Mega-Popular Brand
18 september 2019 · 1 uur 43 min
I have an amazing guest for you today—Danielle Walker. Danielle is the New York Times best-selling author of four amazing cookbooks, the Against All Grain series (my favorite is Eat What You Love, but they’re all delish!). She started eating paleo after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in her twenties, an autoimmune disease that would leave her bed ridden for months. We talk a lot about her diagnosis on this episode, including how she came to decide that the paleo diet was the best one for her, if she’s ever tried other diets, if she thinks everyone should eat paleo, and a ton of other food stuff. We also talk about the emotional impact of having a chronic illness—how it impacts her life as a mom, as a spouse, and more.
Danielle has also built an incredible, thriving business, so talk about building a brand, including how much you should spend at the beginning — and if you can still achieve Danielle’s level of success today or if the market is too saturated.
If you’ve ever struggled with any type of chronic disease, whether it’s physical or mental, I think you’ll really enjoy this episode, and if you’re at all interested in building your own wellness brand, it’s a must listen. I also love our conversations about parenting—I’m so impressed with Danielle’s approach to being a mom, but also taking care of herself. I hope you find Danielle as inspiring as I do. You can find Danielle on Instagram @daniellewalker, or on her website, AgainstAllGrain.com.

This episode is sponsored by Simple Mills, one of my favorite grain free food brands. I’ve been using Simple Mills products for years, starting with their amazing cake mixes. They’ve since expanded the line, which now includes the original cake mixes, pizza dough mix, brownie mix, bread mix, pancake & waffle mix, ready made crackers and cookies, and more. Everything has only a few simple, largely organic ingredients, and there are no weird gums or emulsifiers. You can use the code “healthiertogether20” for 20% off any order on simplemills.com, and if you need product recommendations, don’t hesitate to ask me for them on Instagram (@lizmoody).
